Light it Up

YHC intended to spread Christmas cheer by taking the pax through some of the better lit areas of the surrounding neighborhoods. Coincidentally, those areas have some terrible hills and few got the memo to turn their lights on at 0515. However, we all got to put the star on top of the tree by climbing Glade at the end as consolation for the milder than hoped light show!

Announcements:
- Christmas party is tonight! See you at 5:30pm at RamKat. Zima will be providing kidsitting services.
- Bourbon Chase 2026 teams are being assembled. Rough plan is to leave 10/1/25 and return 10/4/25. Reach out to YHC if interested. Tonight at the Christmas party would be a great time to have that conversation if prior years are any indication.
Prayer Requests:
- Lots of requests for aging parents & grandparents. Juicebox’s mother, Lemming’s father, YHC’s grandmother.
- Families of kids at North Forsyth.
- Total Recall’s father passed recently.
- Broken and estranged families.
NMM:
- MMR had OGs elevation gain at 407; reality was 475. Not sure what the Tractors boys got.
- The lights, for the most part, fartsacked, but it was an amazing morning made by the people who were there. YHC is going to award the best lit section to the bottom of Elizabeth where Snooki and Razzie complied with the requests to both “light it up” and show up. They both made a crescendo out of COT, appearing after a first pass at namarama had been attempted along with Juice Box and Woodpecker. Great to have both of them back out this morning.
- YHC got pulled along the brilliant route by Bevo and Schlitz while Palin’s exhaust vents were creating tremendous headwinds for us. Palin slipped off before COT to talk to a man about his dog.
- As we ran past Snooki’s house, we saw him coming out and said hello to him. He responded with a silent wave. He later told us he didn’t want to wake the dog. Somehow, he left his house 2 miles into our run (~19 minutes in), drove to Hanes Park, ran the route, and only finished ~7 minutes after us.
- Frostbite was EHed but apparently got a better offer. Schlitz, Bevo, and Palin left their mark on his vehicle as a greeting.
- Interference, who frequently gets the award for creative parking to facilitate timely escapes, parked his vehicle in the middle of Runnymede at the bottom of Warrick this morning.
- Chomper rolled back into the parking lot and appeared to be heading straight for the portajohn. Instead, he was just getting to his target mileage because MMR is so unreliable. He did say that going up Glade at the end triggered a push/don’t push tug of war for him.
- Balco witnessed teleportation this morning as runners who were behind him were suddenly in front of him. Palin and YHC witnessed Balco disappear in front of us with rapid acceleration.
- Burlap was vociferous in his displeasure with the route. Noted.
- Mutton & Closer jetted out before COT, but word was they were happy with their life choices this morning.
