Memories of Mayhem
QIC: Drama Queen
Date: 10/01/2025
PAX: Rollback, Subfloor, Slow Pitch, Ziffel, Drama Queen
Mayhem was my first post in September 2014. It has been a fast fun filled (see what I did there) 11 years with many memories – good, painful, humorous. There was no way to cover all of them but YHC thought it would be fun to visit some spots of the AO we don’t see as much anymore.
Upon arrival Rollback was doing burpees – I warned him not to do too many knowing there were more to come. Other pax rolled in and it looked like only 3 more would experience this trip down memory lane but Ziffel pulled in at the end of Warmorama as he continued his campaign to rename Spicoli time to Ziffel time.
Warmorama consisted of several of the standards including a average to below average attempt at Dry Dock Crabs. But time was wasting and lots of ground to cover. Ziffel complained about no warmup and then complained about doing some arm motions during mosey to Elementary School – at least I think he was complaining.
Stop one was Monkey Humpers – in the back of the school – always better in the back of the school – IYKYK
Around to one of the better walls of the Dash where we did Peoples Chair along with Rebound Drills and Mike Tysons. Some pull up bars from the not too distant past were nearby so we knocked out 10 pullups before moving on.
Down the hill to the track. The track and soccer field were often used in days gone by. Muddy Creek floods have not been kind and it is a little dark this time of year. Pulling out another oldie but goodie we circled the track reverse peloton style.
We finished near the hill that where many beatdowns featured 7s or 11s. For the sake of time we only did 5s with LBCs and Merkins.
Up the hill and around to the front of the elementary school where one of YHC’s most painful memories occurred – 10 burpees EMOM. My memory was this was part of IPC one year but maybe not. I do remember Van Gogh being there so it could have just been one of his beatdowns. Plan was to go 5 minutes – rest of the pax were going strong but Q felt the everyone got the idea how bad this was after 3 minutes. We had other stuff to do anyway.
We had a brief stop by a former oft used hill that is now so grown up only rabbits and stray kindergardners could scale it. It was the site of one of Dr. Toot’s injuries. We honored him with a set of squats.
On to the original rock pile of Mayhem near the entrance at Meadowlark. Rocks of adequate size were chosen and we knocked out various numbers of reps of curls, skull crushers, bent over rows and bus drivers.
Back to launch via new path with a somewhat orderly reverse peloton. We took a left at the hill to nowhere and the peloton fell apart but all made it back to launch.
Just enough time for a DQQ special – Sumo Drill. After a quick trade of weight classes, the match ups were Ziffel/Slow Pitch and Rollback/Subfloor. Both ended fairly quickly and YHC took on Ziffel not knowing he had 5 years of Judo training. We both made some moves but Ziffel was the champion Sumo of the day.
A few quick minutes of Mary and we’re done.

Fun to relive some old memories and spots of the AO
Rollback seemed inspired to have some sort of Mayhem reunion – would love to see some of the old regulars back
Puddles are large on track – need couple weeks of dry weather before any adventures down there
The early morning dogs being walked on Meadowlark path did not know what to think of 5 dudes lifting rocks
Strong group of pax that YHC felt honored to show off some of the old haunts of the AO
