Start The Day With A Task Completed

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 9-12-2025

PAX: Drama Queen, Blind Date, Wobegon

A simple morning, but why not do a proper backblast!

The Q rolled up to see Blind Date’s truck and knew he would not be totally alone, at least. The Drama Queen SUV with the telltale Tar Heels sticker was next. Light conversation about our plans, some trash talking on IPC, some speculation on where everyone else was (we pinned it on the Climb to Remember yesterday and tired legs), and set out. YHC to get his 3-mile tempo run in (The Carolina Hurricanes 5k is next week, and I’d like not to embarrass myself in front of Rod the Bod…or Stormy) and the other two for a walking route.

We all made it back and had a short conversation about tomorrow’s launch in Lexington, football weekend plans, and which culinary schools are worth the tuition.

I shared the following quote from the book I just finished, which stuck with me, and we were off to our respective Fridays.

“Start each day with a task completed. Find someone to help you through life. Respect everyone. Know that life is not fair and that you will fail often. But if you take some risks, step up when times are toughest, face down the bullies, lift up the downtrodden, and never, ever give up—if you do these things, then next generation and the generations that follow will live in a world far better than the one we have today and—what started here will indeed have changed the world—for the better”

Thanks for joining, boys, and thanks to the Singing Cowboy for the keys. Now all y’all go make your bed.
