The Thang
After YHC was on vacation for two weeks, why not recycle a beatdown from almost a month ago. Modify it oh so slightly.
Mosey to get blocks and then YHC introduced the all new mode of transportation with a block. The Coldplay Cuddle, where you hold your block real close as if you’re at a Coldplay concert with your significant other or coworker.
Once we were at the spot with all YHC’s tools of beatdown, I remembered that we had to count off. So let’s line up by when we started F3 and then remember the number you counted off.
With blocks we started first group of exercises. 4 groups with 4 exercises. Increasing reps of 6, 12, 18, 24 after each round. Never made it to 24.
- Group 1: Curls, OH Press, Block Swing, Skull Crushers
- Group 2: Rocky Balboas, People’s Chair, Jack Reachers, Dwight Howards
- Group 3: WW2, Boxcutters, Freddy Mercs, Low Flutters
- Group 4: Dips, Squatty Potties, Step ups both legs, Abyss Merkins (partner up and your partner holds your legs)
After first round, one PAX picked a numbered piece of wood and rolled the transportation die to see what he had to do. On the back was the exercise all other PAX would do while waiting. Also, as a memory game, the picking PAX had to guess the hospital name of the PAX whose number was selected. If wrong, penalty dice were rolled for reps and exercise all PAX had to do.
This was fun and 2 PAX picked after the first round, 3 after the second round, and 2 to finish it up. Q never selected.
Returned blocks and headed back to start.

NMM
- Before start, Crash discussed his preferred beatdown area, shaded parking lot, which YHC informed him was the plan, but sorry, we all got wet shoes.
- Crash was also at the previous beatdown at Parliament, so was terrified when he saw the tools of beatdown, remembering what YHC would plan next, but quickly volunteered to go first and wisely chose a number that he knew the answer.
- There was a lot of fun had while counting People’s Chair and Jack Reachers. Ziffel used every language except Klingon and SQL.
- Several tall PAX jumped to the ceiling of the covered walkway during Dwight Howard’s. Looking up to you Van Gogh, Ziffel, Tonka.
- We only had two penalty rolls, probably due to close relations, living in the same house but not at the same time, cheating and/or other shenanigans. I think one was for Sunshine, since most thought his hospital name was Young Whipper Snapper.
- We think Adobe correctly named Ziffel, but the rest of the PAX weren’t completely sure but he got in all the necessary Zs.
- Tweety Bird arrived at the tail end of Bat Wings, straight out of the Exicon, so his arms were not as tired as the rest of us.
- Adobe was hyped when War Pigs came on.
- As we were in the last set on the wall, we spotted a tall red headed PAX with the gait of victory and no ounce of shame saunter up. Van Gogh quickly said that 49 minutes late for a beatdown was probably the record.
- Nelly needs to inform Sunshine’s soccer coach that Crawlbears need to be included in future practices.
