Greetings, Earthlings! Welcome to World UFO Day at BnW.

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 6-2-2025

PAX: Manscape, Transcript, Closer, Bluto, Airbag, Wobegon

Today is World Wide UFO Day, which just begs for a workout theme. Here is what we did:

Warm-O-Rama was standard, and the sweat began. The Q fired up the speaker for our special edition Spacy Punk music playlist, and we got started.

Welcome to Area 51: 51 Reps OYO + Short Lap

Complete 51 reps of each exercise on your own, taking a short lap between each.

  • U – Upright Rows

  • F – Front Raises

  • O – Overhead Press

 Frog People From Planet O

Three rounds in cadence, 10 reps of each movement. 10 count.

  • U – U-Haul Press

    1. Press straight out from your chest.

    2. Return to chest.

    3. Press upward at a 45° angle.

    4. Return to chest.

  • F – Frog Squats
Hands on your bell, squat from a low bear crawl stance without moving forward.

  • O – O, the Big
A lesser-known Mary exercise, on your back, legs together, make a big O, IC.

Finish with a long lap.

We repeat-O twice with 5 reps and laps, total of 20 of each.

The Space Flamingo That Fell to Earth

Look! One more UFO has been sighted!

  • U – Up-Downs
Chop your feet or do high knees. On call, drop to the ground and bounce back up. We did this round-robin style, twice, 12 times.

  • F – Flamingo Merkins
Bend over and touch your toes. Walk your hands out to a plank with one leg raised. Perform a merkin, then walk back and switch legs for the next rep. Transcript seemed to really like these. 10 reps.

  • O – Overhead Triceps Extensions. We call them Skull Crushers, but whatever.  10 reps.

Close it out with a long lap.

Extended Mary by committee to the sweet sounds of possibly the greatest UFO-themed song of all time, Subteranian Homesick Alien by Radiohead.

NMM:
Great effort by all earthlings present.

  • Manscape is the definition of a quiet assassin, just knocking it out with no complaints.
  • Bluto and Closer got their pre-ruck in and kept the conversation going. Waves of positivity come off those two at all times.
  • Speaking of positivity, the Site Q rolled up with the shovel flag and his sunshine bazooka to get us going. Again, he REALLY liked the Flamingo Merkins.
  • Have not seen Airbag in a while. He has pool drop-off duties in the mornings now (really, dropping his kids at the pool, not a euphemism).  But he hasn’t lost a step from less regular posting.
  • To no one’s surprise, AI was a conversation topic. Bring that energy to Zima’s TED Talk tonight.

Here is our playlist.

I want to point out that about 90% of those UFO or alien-themed jams live in my head and were added in a flurry. Just 2 or 3 were added after some keyword searches. Catch me in the mid-90s in my Man Or Astroman shirt buying records in Greensboro.

We did hear something overhead at one point. It was not identified, so you could say we had a real unidentified flying object.

Hope everyone puts their feet up, cracks a beverage of choice and watches an old school History Channel documentary on UFOs tonight. That is YHCs plan.

Transcript, I’ll beam the keys back to you later.
