Good old Jamison Park, a land of vast riches and plenty of apparatus to use for beatdowns. The esteemed site Q, Rollback has been setting the bar high lately with AI generated art to promote his Qs, his latest at Conspiracy was no exception! Feeling the need to follow suite, YHC used Google Gemini to try it out. After much time off and on throughout the afternoon, and several back and forths, a pretty cool image was generated! See the image to the right.

A recent theme at Mayhem and around town has been heavy carries, so rather than try more heavy carries, YHC had the thought to do constant movement with a rock. And what better way to do that than to use a timer! Better yet… let’s time it so we get 25 alerts to do 20 reps and make it a 20×25 beatdown!?

For those who don’t know, the challenge from YHC this year has been dubbed  “20×25”, with 20 sets of 25 reps (changed to 25 sets of 20 reps for timing sake today). There will be at least 10 throughout the year. There will be a cool prize for those who attend 3 or more this year. This was the seventh iteration. And it went a little something like this.

Warm-o-rama

  • Mission Statement / Core Principles!
  • Rushed explanation, one and only view of cardboard.
  • Grab a rock (route in image to the right)

The Thang

  • Every 96s, stop and do 20 reps of the following OYO:
    1. Thrusters
    2. Overhead Press
    3. Rockees
    4. Curls
    5. Hammers (SC)
  • Today’s carrying route!

    Movements up/down hill to nowhere

    1. Overhead Carry
    2. Rock Crawl
    3. Lunge Walk
    4. Baby Belly
    5. Shoulder Carry
  • Return rocks

Mary:

  • NUT PUNCH! Mosey to top of Hill
  • American Hammers x 25 IC
  • Mosey back to launch

CoT:

  • YHC lifting up his mother in law and father in law in prayer. The first for comfort and ease of pain, and the second to be present and appreciate the time they have left together.
  • YHC also prayed for the woman Ducky helped out of a pool and onto a stretcher with a severely broken ankle while at the pool. This experience was proof that F3 works! TClaps Ducky, way to take action and help!
  • YHC took us out.

NMM:

  • Oof, that was a doozy! 500 reps, but constant movement with the rock really kicked it up a notch. Simply carrying the rock in different ways at the end made the back burn in different ways…
  • The downside of using a timer is there is a strict start time, especially when you want 40 minutes of work! It didn’t help that the bluetooth speaker didn’t connect… this required YHC to just carry his phone and announce when it was time to do reps. It also expedited instructions with NO warmorama other than the 5 core principles and mission statements.
  • Huck grabbed a bigger medium sized rock than YHC, and so we switched. He picked a good one for YHC with nice handles and a flat side for sliding.
  • Root Canal did not seem pleased with a lack of warm up, but he warmed up quickly after doing Thrusters and OH Press in between Rifle carrying to start! Root Canal noticed the hill to nowhere include in the art, which we definitely used!
  • Subfloor also did not seem pleased with lack of warmup, but overall YHC was very pleased with his effort this morning. He put in solid work and didn’t have any complaints other than YHC’s questionable leadership. Subfloor noticed the big rocks, which we used, though not as big.
  • I think Ducky was sad the rain hadn’t continued into the morning. The muggy weather was NOT a nice consolation. The duck was sore from his experience over the weekend, but toughed it out and hung with us just fine. We had a good chat about how F3 Works, and he wouldn’t have been able to help 2 years ago! Ducky thought YHC’s atlas stone would be used, given the crazy big rocks in the image – nope, just a coincidence!
  • Tweety Bird has become a regular once again, and YHC is glad he’s back! If only he would get on Slack I’d be even more glad! Then he could fully appreciate all of the cool AI art being posted these days….
  • YHC and Huck reminisced about the time YHC almost broke Huck with rock crawls at a Mayhem Q many, many years ago in Middle School parking lot. And just look at the man now – rock crawling is his favorite! We also had some good talk about life, glad the man is getting back out now that school is out!
  • Then Root reminisced about the time HOG actually did break him with the slippery hillside next to the playground leading to his first torn quad injury. And just look at the man now!
  • As we worked our way back to launch, we had just enough time to cool down with a Nut Punch by running to the top of the hill, doing some American Hammers for Mary, and running back down to arrive at launch precisely at 6:15. #ChefsKiss
  • It was a great morning, very gloomy, and YHC was glad to spend time with the 5 great dudes who showed up. #TClaps men!

Rollback, you were missed this morning, but having to Q another AO is a great excuse! YHC appreciates everything he’s been doing to better our region, and enjoyed the attempt to make some decent AI art, maybe I’ll do it again in the future! The keys can be found precisely between the two breaking points that were discussed… good luck!

CHAT WITH GEMINI TO CREATE PREBLAST AI ART:

  • Initial prompt
    • Create a Vincent Van Gogh stylized painting, depicting a public park with gloomy early morning fog and vibrantly colored sunrise in the sky. Ensure the sky shows classic Van Gogh stylized swirls. Include an asphalt parking lot, with grass field and a large 20 person shelter reachable by sidewalk; in the background should be a forest, with a very tall grassy hill rising next to it that has a visible path going up the hill. In the parking lot, depict 6 men doing various exercises (like squats, overhead press, push ups) with rocks in their hands; ensure no dumbells or barbells are present. These men should all be wearing workout clothes and have their features obscured and drawn in a Van Gogh style. In the middle of the image, include the words “MAYHEM” in a stencil font, with the subtitle “Q: VAN GOGH” and another subtitle below that of “06/11/2025”.
  • Gemini makes a horrible looking thing
    • Make the image more cohesive and less jarring. Ensure all content is stylized as a Vincent Van Gogh painting, including the park, shelter, and men exercising.
  • Better, except the men didn’t fit
    • This is very close to perfect. Ensure all of the men look like Vincent Van Gogh. And no barbells should be used, only rocks should be held!
  • The fog still wasn’t right… and the guys were holding weights?
    • ENSURE THE SHELTER AND FOG LOOK LIKE THEY ARE DRAWN IN VAN GOGH STYLE. ALL OF THE MEN SHOULD BE HOLDING ROCKS
  • Once again holding weights did not compute
    • Why do the men have barbells in their hands? Please stop including them.
  • Better, but the guys stopped looking like Van Gogh
    • Excellent! Make all of the men look like Van Gogh
  • Giving up on the fog now…
    • Okay, this is great, but add more Van Gogh stylization to the surrounding park. Remove the fog and just draw a stylized forest. Add a large hill in the background with a visible path.
  • Near perfection, but the words didn’t fit
    • Is it possible to make the words look as if they were painted in Van Gogh style?
  • Close enough, DONE!
  • One of the rocks had handles, and an odd snowman like rock sculpture existed, so YHC quickly used Photoshop’s generative AI feature to remove the few things that weren’t quite right.
  • There were a lot of VERY different alternative images, some of which had really great, different features than the final image, but had more glaring things wrong – like wrong style, weird dumbell/rock weight things, and Gemini definitely didn’t know how to do VG style fog – hence why it was removed.
  • Crazy world we are living in…

Looks like a great beatdown. Good thing you changed from 20 sets of 25 reps to 20 sets of 25 reps. 😅.
