Hanes Pond
Date: 5.21.25
PAX: Zesty, Madoff (EC), Palin, Schlitz, Greenspan
The plan was to partner up and play catch me if you can on the track at Hanes Park while each partner completed a Dora 1-2-3. The overnight storms turned the park into a pond and forced a rethink. Here’s how it turned out for the five of us.
Warmarama:
- Mosey to the first shelter at the track. SSHs, Abe Vigodas, Whirlies, Cherry Pies, Copperhead Squats
The Thang:
Catch Me If you Can
- Part 1: Start with partner A slow moseying (Palin needs help here) while partner B (and C, if applicable) performs squats x 10. B chases A and flip flop. Repeato 9 more times so each partner completes 100 squats.
- Part 2: Partner A performs merkins x 10 (or 20) while partner B runs 100m and back (200m). Repeato 9 times so each partner completes merkins x 100 (or 200).
- Part 3: Partner A slow moseys while partner B performs LBCs x 15.
That left time for 7 minutes of Mary:
- American Hammers (Greenspan)
- Box Cutters (Palin)
- Something Obscene (Schlitz)
- Penguin Crunch (Zesty)
- Low Flutters (Madoff)
- Heels to Heaven (Greenspan)

Prayer Requests:
- Foot injuries for both Frostbite and Wobegon.
- Van Gogh’s M’s mother and family.
YHC prayed us out.
NMM:
- There was supposed to be an EC run at 0500, but the overnight storms resulted in Palin whining about running in the rain via text at 0419. Thus, YHC called a rain check on the EC. However, knowing that Madoff had probably already started his trek from Georgia to Conspiracy, YHC went on to the park. The two of us got in just over 2 miles, including an inspection of the track for flooding. Schlitz felt betrayed.
- Peters Creek was running today. So too were the pax. Some of us left our running shoes at home due to the rain and puddles; Zesty said he always brings his running shoes to a Greenspan Q. Great seeing you back out, Father.
- YHC was, IMO, merciful to the pax, mixing up the order of the Dora so that we didn’t begin the beatdown with our hands in puddles. Palin: “You know where else I wouldn’t be in puddles? The bed. And one more? Under the shelter.”
- Story of the day: Schlitz once gave a bottle of wine to a woman who dropped her Yeti Tumbler in his driveway on her way to a pool meet. What variety was the bottle? Pinot Grigio, pronounced by Schlitz as “Pee Not Gregio!”.
- We got in 2.5 miles despite the deluge and remaining puddles. Adapt and accelerate, men.
Thanks, Frank & Beans, for the keys. We still miss you.
