Good Friday Nomad with an M in the house

QIC: Drama Queen

Date: 04/19/2019

PAX: Zima, Palin, Starfish, The Pony Express, Foolish Pleasure fka Reid Wixson, Drama Queen

YHC neither wanted to get up at 5:15 nor run long distances this Good Friday morning so a Nomad signal was sent out into the Dash twittersphere.  Palin posed the question if Ms could come and just like that the invitation was open to all.  But when the Palinmobile was the first to join YHC in the parking lot no Mrs. Palin.  All was not lost because soon thereafter Mr. and Mrs. Pony Express rolled in from nearby Century Oaks.  We were also joined by a jetlagged Starfish and Zima who along with Palin was pulling a double down.

After a full disclosure or something close for our guest we began with warmorama.  As usual Zima was MCing about something and with Palin and Starfish there to join in, the Q had to go into silencer mode. We got thru the standards without too much complaining and moseyed over to the hill to quell the MC.

We then proceeded to bear crawl up the hill, perform one burpee, run to the rock pile, find an appropriate rock and perform 10 curls, circle back by the playgroup equipment for 2 pull ups and back to the hill for a repeato.  The goal was to add one burpee, 10 curls and 2 pull ups per lap and to complete 5 laps.  We got to 4 and decided to move on.

We moseyed down to the temporarily dry field and performed another rotation using the 4 benches.  2 person groups rotated thru rt and left leg step ups, irkins and dips.  Rotating when Q called it.

Finally we did partner push. partner pull and Saratogas.

We closed with some standard Mary exercises after Starfish (with a little help from all including Reid) explained the Something About Mary reference to Zima. We also performed these on the nice dry grass.

About 2 minutes over but it was a Nomad so no official rules were violated.

As stated Palin and Zima were awarded 2 stars for the double down.  And to further prove their studliness, led the way most of the day.

Starfish had not arrived back in the Dash until after 11:00 last night.  #jetlagdoesntkeephimdown

There seemed to be more interest earlier in the week for this nomad and YHC had hoped to even see some 2.0s but seemed everyone was out of town or sleeping late

The big event of the day was the naming of our special guest.  Someone first mentioned that since she was Pony’s wife maybe a famous horse would be appropriate, that went to a filly who won the Kentucky Derby and the only name YHC could come up with (and pretty sure it was not a filly) was Foolish Pleasure.  Where that came from only Dr. Freud knows.  I’ve been to the Derby and couldn’t tell you the winner that year or many other years actually – maybe on a multiple choice test.

Anyway, after a few other nominations came to the floor and we explained to our FNG that she had no say in her name, we settled on Foolish Pleasure – later we learned thru The Google – the 1975 (wow I’m old to remember that one) Kentucky Derby winner.

We all agreed it was a good day and the workout was sufficient

Thanks for coming
