Whiskey on the Rocks
QIC: Slowpitch

PAX: @ziggy stardust (WD), @drip, @wahoo (WB), @blind date (vest), @slowpitch
Had whiskey on my mind this week so I wanted to share with some HIMs today at The Distillery. We enjoyed a few pours, some with ice (coupon), some neat (no coupon). After the Zima beatdown at Mayhem yesterday, I lightened up the running load and added some more coupon workouts.
Today’s playlist was brought to you by Spotify: Top Classic Rock Hits of All Time…..it was just OK.
Warmup:
Side straddle hops, arm swirlies, Michael Phelps, groin stretch, the stretchy stretch, quad stretch.
The thang:
Set up was easy. 4 stations (making a rectangle in the parking lot) with multiple workouts at each station. Complete 2 rounds of the workouts at each station. Station 4 consisted of 4 workouts and was an 8-minute AMRAP. Here is what we did.
- Station 1: Mashbill Mixer on the rocks (with a coupon)
- Squats holding your coupon at your chest (15 and then 20)
- Overhead lunges (14 and then 20)
- Goblet squats (15 and then 20)
- Neat – Air squats (15 and then 20)
Run a sprint to the cone opposite of you and then back. Grab your coupon and rifle carry to station 2.
- Station 2: Fermentation Burn on the rocks (with a coupon)
- Overhead Press (15 and then 20)
- Merkins (15 and then 20)
- Carolina Dry Docks (15 and then 20)
- Diamon Merkins (15 and then 20)
Run a sprint to the cone opposite of you and then back. Grab your coupon and rifle carry to station 3.
- Station 3: Barrel-Aged Grinder on the rocks
- Blockies (5 of them for both rounds)
- Block curls (15 and then 20)
- Block triceps extensions (15 and then 20)
- Block bent over rows (15 and then 20)
Run a sprint to the cone opposite of you and then back. Grab your coupon and rifle carry to station 4.
- Station 4: 8-minute AMR(ounds)AP – Bottled and Proofed
- 10 block thrusters
- 15 block swings
- 20 block plank pull through
- 20 block jumps
Lastly, we ended with a whiskey search which was just a lap around the parking lot. I didn’t hide a bottle of whiskey in the snow.

- I learned today that the groan stretch is now called the Ziggy Stardust. If you haven’t seen why, next Q do the groan stretch and you’ll see. Quite impressive. Ziggy also told me that he thinks we may get 1 more snow so I told him “That’s the whiskey talking” but not really no alcohol was consumed before, during or after the beatdown.
- Drip is the man, it’s always nice to get a beatdown in with Drip. I know he was talking with Wahoo and Ziggy throughout the workout but I had the Best Rock of all time blasting so loud that I was missing what they were chatting about.
- Fun fact about Wahoo. When he was younger, he worked at Dunkin Donuts for 10 years and for 1 year his location had the best drive through time out of all the Dunkin Donuts. He may or may not have cheated the system by getting in his car, going through the drive through, leaving, rinse and repeat. Clever guy and even got a $50 bonus on his paycheck!
- Me and Blind Date had some good talks about restaurant drive through after Wahoo was telling us about his heist at Dunkin Donuts. We talked about Chick Fil A, Cook Out and then we got to talking about cheeseburgers. Lets just say I somehow ended up at Whataburger for lunch.
- If you need flowers, Costco has flowers (according to Wahoo) and the Lowe’s in Clemmons will be selling flowers by Blind Date’s mom so visit her as she is award winning flower seller at Lowe’s during Valentine’s and Prom season.
Thank y’all for letting me lead today.
