Purgatory was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt
QIC: Green Acres
Date: 9-13-25
PAX: Roundup, Lambchop, Comrade, Lemming, Splash, Mutton
Apologies to Kurt Vonnegut for the paraphrase. 😊 But it was a beautiful morning at Purgatory yesterday. Attendance was expectedly light with lots of pax in Lexington to support the launch of a new AO! 👏. But we were soon seven and got to work. The usual Warmarama and then to the brick planter in front of Speas. There we did 20 OYO of: LL step ups, derkins, RL step ups, dips, squats, Irkins, lo-flutter, merkins, LBC. Then repeato. Next to parking lot with 5 islands: crab walk to 2nd island, lunge walk to next, bear crawl to next, toy soldier walk to last.
Then to play equipment for short ladder: start with 10 ea of pull-ups and sit-ups, decr by 1 each round down to 5 each. (Lambchop told YHC that another Q had already done pull-ups this week so I assumed he wanted more for his new weekly personal best. Always glad to help. 👍🏻)
Then to the rocks for 2 rounds of Greatest Hits: 15 IC curls, skull crushers, BO rows, OH press, then 10 IC for 2nd round.
To school wall for 1 minute wall sit, then around the corner for an even better wall for about 20 feet of Wall Ball Crawl, avoiding the gate post in the middle so one doesn’t “knock your knob.” 😆. Now about time for Mary so headed back to start. Everyone seemed anxious about having time for Huck merkins. At least that’s what YHC thought about pax checking their watches. 🤷♂️. We did some lo Dolly, Mutton crunches, mosey around the parking lot (to appease Lemming that kept asking for running. Time waster 🙄), lo flutter, American hammer, and finished with the ultimate crowd pleaser, Huck’s 3 merkins. Done!
Great chaps, all put in plenty of work. Had a bag o’ music playing Steve Winwood. Temp and humidity were perfect. Really enjoyed the morning! Lambchop and Splash smashed the pull-ups along with everything else. RoundUp and Mutton quietly cruised through it. Lemming was missing the running part but we finally appeased him. Comrade was his cheerful self and there was more mumble chatter than grumble chatter from the pax. 😅
We had no announcements but finished with prayers for aging parents and family members, peace in the world, and help with good decisions and being the best men we can be. And should have mentioned Mrs. Lambchop, who is happily nearly full term!
Was a pleasure to lead. Thanks Undertow. “Everything was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt”. 😁

Left out the Howling Monkeys round we did after the legs and shoulders stuff at the planter. 10 monkey humpers each. Fun!
