Launchpad 6.23
QIC: Turnover
Date: 6.23.25
PAX: @Burns , @Brittani (WD) , @Fritter (FNG, WB) , @Turnover (Q)
I believe it was the great philosophers/early 2000’s punk rock band MxPx that once said “Don’t hate me forever, I’m better late than never”. Truer words have rarely been spoken. Coming in just under a month after it took place, let’s take a look at what happened at #TheLaunchpad back on June 23rd.
99.9% of the time, YHC shows up to beatdowns unaccompanied. That was not the case on this warm, muggy June morning. On this day, YHC’s oldest 2.0 asked if he could tag along for the workout. Since I had the keys, I figured why not. So at the crack of 0445, I got this little whippersnapper out of bed and brought him along for his first official F3WS post.
We arrived at the pavilion to find @Burns already there getting some stretching in. We were promptly joined by @Brittani and at the stroke of 0530, we were off.
YHC recites the Mission Statement and CP’s (as well as the legal disclaimer..just in case my 8 year old got any fresh ideas) #CYA

Usual Suspects + some stretchy stretch.
The THANG
Mosey to the playground for a brief-ish circuit to get the arms going.
Starting at the wall nearest to the pavilion, we started with Irkins x10 OYO
From there, mosey to the swings for some supine pullups x15 OYO
Then to the wall on the far side of the playground for Dips x20 OYO
Repeato
After the second round of the circuit, we moseyed down to the rock pile to select a companion for the rest of the morning.
Grab a rock and head down to the field where head lamps / running lights were conveniently placed to mark our working stations.
Here, we performed 11s. Station 1 was OH Press, Station 2 was WW2’s, but there was a little wrinkle.
Approximately 10 yards away from our OH Press station, there was a cone.
PAX were to perform their OH Presses and then bear crawl to the cone for 5 burpees
After the burpees, mosey to the WW2 station. Perform WW2s, mosey back to cone for 5 more burpees, then bear crawl back to the start and repeat OH presses.
@Burns accurately/annoyingly noted that if we completed the entire 11s circuit, that would add up to 100 burpees. This fact was overlooked during the Q’s preparation, but it was also ignored by the Q once it was brought to light. Onward.
All PAX made it through almost every round of the 11s before we started running short of time. Grab your rock and return it to where you found it.
Mosey back to the pavilion for some MARY
Freddie Mercs, Mutton Crunches and Low Flutters
Time.

Announcements and prayer requests were shared.
Then we got to name our FNG. Shep Sweet, a fiery 8 year old who loves baseball needed a name. YHC suggested a baseball-themed name, but @Burns had his mind made up pretty quickly that the FNG’s name should be related to that of the Q. After a brief deliberation, @Fritter was decided upon and that was that. Welcome @Fritter!! The kid did a great job hanging with the PAX all morning (although some of his form was a little questionable). He also tried to make up some time by de-constructing his burpees (“so I can go faster”) during the 11s. While YHC (and @VG probably would have) applauded the rationale, Fritter was quickly corrected and seemed to fall in line thereafter.

YHC and @Burns discussed some of the ins and outs of the responsibilities of Principals and APs in the WSFCS district as @Burns shared that he is working toward his credentials to move into such a role.
@Brittani was crushing it all morning and made light work of the 11s. He also brought with him several prints he had made up of some patriotic artwork he had recently done. It was truly incredible work and all of us were honored to accept @Brittani’s offering to take some of the prints with us as souvenirs. Excellent work, @Brittani. And thank you for your generosity.
All in all, it was an excellent morning and a great way to get the week started. Thanks to all who posted.
Thanks for the keys, @Burnsy. Always an honor to lead.
