17 “Swam” at Purgatory

QIC: Boomerang

Date: 07/26/2025

PAX: Burlap, Argyle, Red Baron (Kotters), Lamb Chop, Roundup, Comrade (WB), Lemming, Splash, D-Day, Frostbite, Boo Boo, Narcan, Hotdish, Pony Express, Superfly, former FNG-Alex Greeg aka Piggly Wiggly and Boomerang (YHC/WD).

As all PAX know one of the core principles of F3 is related to the weather. While 77 degrees may not seem all that bad, throw in 80% humidity and you get a “pool” effect-thus the PAX did look like we swam during the beatdown. We also reminisced about the days when we possibly had an AO that involved swimming. Anyway…

17 PAX began promptly at the appointed hour with the reciting of the mission statement and a round robin of the reciting of the 5 core principles-all done very well with only a few clues needed to be given. We began the Warmarama with Boomerang’s “6th core principle” the Imperial Storm Trooper/Walkers and then moved into the rest of the normal stuff.

Mosey to the Lido Deck for the beginning of the beatdown.

OYO-on top deck 15 reps each-Mike Tysons, Dips, Irkins and Derkins, on to bottom deck for 15 each of right leg/left leg step ups. Back to the top reduce by 5 and repeato and finally reduce to 5 reps and we moved on for the next phase of the beatdown.

Mosey to the rock pile, partner up and move to the driveway for Doricide-150 curls, 300 squats and 450 LBC’s. Partner 1 does reps and partner 2 runs the designated distance, then switch. Well done gents!

With some time still remaining it was time to have partner 1 wall sit with arms in the Jack Reacher position as partner 2 completed 20 OH presses. Switch and repeato 2 additional times. While YHC thought asking the Pax to “encourage” their partner during this exercise was appropriate, most comments heard were-speed up, you are going too slow, etc. Nice to know we encourage well!

Return rocks and mosey back to start for RRM (Round Robin Mary).  By YHC ‘s count PAX completed ~1000 reps each during the workout-really Strong work!

Done!

Thanks to Narcan, the PAX not the medication, we had an FNG. Narcan has moved back to the area and lives over the border in Davidson County and brought a life long buddy, Alex Greer. Alex works for DOT, was a policeman for 14 years and is also a gentleman farmer. Narcan added Alex was the only farmer he knew who also tended sheep. Well with that bit of information the naming round went rapidly over the cliff’s edge with Splash leading the way. We quickly recovered, I think, and headed in a naming direction which will be much more acceptable to yell if you meet  up with Alex in public-Piggly Wiggly. And that is all YHC will say about that!

Announcements:

Give blood-although D-Day insists you don’t use it all, some disagree. You just don’t have to keep it all.

YHC has the Q at Parliament on 7/29.

Prayer Requests:

Friend of Pony’s who lost their son-mid 20’s.

YHC son and DIL as they adjust to their new addition-Titus, born 7/22.

YHC took us out.

Yacht Rock was YHC’s music of choice this AM-although Frostbite wondered if most songs were from the Respects and Double Respects prom nights!

Great to have Red Baron back for a season with us, Kotters.

Glad to meet Narcan and FNG, Piggly Wiggly-strong work!

Some PAX questioned the yellow caution tape at the Lido Deck. Probably was up at some point to keep us off the deck, but as it was laying on the ground we assumed it was now safe to enter.

Not much other mumble chatter. As Pony put it-when the PAX have to count the MC goes way down-good to know.

Always a pleasure to lead the fine PAX of Purgatory.
