The morning started with a clearly working-man’s van pulling in to the lot as Bloodsport and I set up the Orange Cones Of Pain (trademark pending). Either the church was having some work done and we were about to get r-u-n-n-o-f-t or we had our first pax. Turnes out it was U-Turn.  Had not met him or his van before.  The others showed up, a strong mix of relatively newer guys and we circled up.

Normal Warm-O-Rama, IC count was 13 for all of them.

We walk to the center of the lot. A large triangle of OCoP was set up.  Pax pick a cone, perform 13 reps of exercise 1 on the card, and move to the next cone. When you have done all three, plank in the middle for the 6. Next, repeat-o and add in exercise 2, also 13 reps.  Repeat-o one more time adding in exercise number 3.

Cone 1:

  1. Merkins
  2. Carolina Dry Docks
  3. Peter Pakers

Cone 2:

  1. LBCs
  2. Heels to Heaven
  3. Dying Cockroach

Cone 3:

  1. Squats
  2. Left Leg Lunges
  3. Right Leg Lunges

Next up: horizontal line at the end of the lot.  Q will call a destination (middle, end) and exercise. Pax will mosey to that destination and perform 13 reps of the called exercise. We did this for…a period of time.

  • One end: High Kneews
  • Middle: Alternating Shoulder Taps
  • Other end: American Hammers

Back to the Orange Cones of Pain:

Repeat-o for the Lightning Round: start with all three excises at the cone of your choosing, then hit all three. Then repeat, taking one excercise off, till you are down to one. Then plank in middle for the 6.

Finally, two laps of Peleton Run around the square parameter of the parking lot.

Time for Mary, normal stuff, reps of 13, and running out the last two minutes with some planks/superman-bananna.

The theme? Bloodsports 13th birthday today. Great way to kick off the teen years, if you ask me. Playlist by him. (lots of Metallica and Judas Priest, some Rancid, and (sorry Shultz) one Rush track. Kicked off with ‘Immegrant Song’ by Led Zepplin in honor of the new Thor movie (7pm tickets, after the tacos tonight).
