Date: 11.18.2021

PAX: Huckleberry, Ziffel, Offsides, Workbench, Crash, Burns

YHC had an idea. It was a bad one.

Thrusters + Star = Thrustar

An aside – I used to believe that we have some very creative PAX among us. As I was concocting this plan I thought about patting myself on the back for my new routine.  But as I began to satisfy my ego I came to this realization: We aren’t creative. We do the same thing every morning, just in a different order. Some of us come up with some rules or structures that make a particular workout unique, challenging, fun, or some combination of the three. But ultimately we are just repackaging the same stuff.  Some of our AOs have different expectations, sure, but what makes F3 great is not the creativity and variety of our workouts, it is our discipline. The grit it takes to wake up in the morning and choose to be uncomfortable – in whatever order the exercises get dished out – is what makes our little cult so great.  The shared leadership of 80-100 guys who step up to Q workouts every couple of months and take a stab at being creative in their planning is special, and what gets me out of bed on the mornings I don’t fartsack. (This diatribe is partially a message to myself – I have loved the fartsack too much recently). I need to make a better effort to get to the Qs & AOs that I don’t visit as frequently. I need to be careful when I badger a Q about being boring or uncreative, because planning a beatdown takes time, energy, and some level of vulnerability to put yourself out there to lead. And I need to get off my high horse about thinking my Qs are more difficult or creative than others.

WoR: Warm up lap around the parking lot, then pick out a cinder block from behind the shed and reconvene in the middle of the parking lot. SSH, IW, Copperhead Squats, Jack Reachers, Michael Phelps all x15IC

The Thang: The center of the parking lot is the center of a 5-pointed star. See the inserted image at the bottom. At this location, do 10 Squat Thrusters with the cinderblock. Then mosey to station 1, do the exercises, mosey back to the center for 10 more squat thrusters, and continue the pattern all the way around the star. The number of squat thrusters never changed, but the exercises around the 5 points looked like this:

10 Heels to Heaven

All pax completed three full rounds, with Huck threatening to start a 4th round before the call was given to return the blocks.

Mary: Freddie Mercs x15IC, Huck’s three merkins (only time for one)

All told, 150 squat thrusters and 45 of every other exercise on the weinke.

Some MC was muttered, some jolly conversations were had, and some announcements were shared at the end.

Convergence, Saturday 11/27 @ Hanes Park. Bring canned foods

Thanksgiving Day TRQ will happen at 0700 at Speas. No word on WIB or Distillery.

Huck is Qing Supermax & Alcatraz this week…bring your big boy pants.

Please keep me & my M in your prayers – we purchased our dream home (great!) and now have to sell our current home and move, all while navigating holiday travel. Sheesh.
