WIB 7.16

QIC: Turnover

Date: 7.16.20

PAX: H.O.G. , Mutton , Litter Box (WB) , Dr. Toot Canal (WD) , Huckleberry , Van Gogh , Turnover (Q)

A slight tweak to an older WIB that YHC had done a while back was awaiting the 6 brave PAX that posted this morning. Standard WIB structure: running with Pain Stations.  Let’s check out those stations of pain:

Warm O Rama

Usual Suspects, but some of the PAX *cough* LB and Huck *cough* got a little chatty and the Q didn’t particularly care for their tone, so the beatdown started a little sooner than planned.

PAX would complete 10 reps at each station and go up 5 reps with each lap (10, 15, 20, etc)

Station 1: Mike Tysons , Bobby Hurleys , Freddie Merc

Station 2: Berkins (Merkins with Bricks) , Ski Down (lateral jump over bricks) , WW2

Station 3: Crucible Merkins , 180 Degree Jump Squat , Pulse Asheville Abs

Station 4: Burpees

All PAX completed 4 rounds. The reps got out of hand quickly so, as YHC is a man of the people, we Omaha’d the last round to stay at 20 reps (10, 15, 20, 20).

65 Burpees, 195 reps of abs, 195 reps of lower body, and 195 merkins*. (*As is his custom, @VG was keeping count of everything, and brought it to our attention that we would end up doing 195 merkins, only 5 short of a nice, round 200, so we all stopped at the very end to do 5 quick merkins together to get to 200.  Thanks, VG.)

@Tigger and M had a healthy baby girl.

One of @Mutton’s coworkers has COVID.

@H.O.G. is preaching at a youth camp in Ohio this week.

@Litterbox’s co-worker who passed away from colon cancer

YHC took us out lifting up those mentioned, asking for peace and healing for all.

@Dr. Toot was his usual self and made his presence known very early on.

@Mutton mentioned he was dealing with a shoulder issue, but it did not show as he powered through each station with little difficulty and, as always, zero complaining.

@H.O.G. might have overtaken @Zima as the quickest WW2er in @F3WS. Dude was flying through everything.

@Van Gogh was contemplating just staying at the WW2 station on the last round as he was concerned he might not complete all the required reps before time was up. Obviously this didn’t end up happening because he is a beast.

On one of the rounds, @Dr. Toot was the first to complete the MT’s/BH’s/and FM’s and started running toward the next station. @Litterbox was the next to leave this station and YHC heard him say, in his typical polite and soft spoken tone “I’m coming for you, Root Canal”, and it was one of the most terrifying things I had ever heard. Against all odds, @The Pharoah survived.

@Huck and @LB seemed to be a little confused during the warmup when YHC asked the PAX to “extend your left leg” on the “Walk the Dog” portion of the warmup. They thought I meant “lift” your left leg, instead of “extend” the left leg in order to stretch said leg. The confusion led to a light razzing of YHC, at which point the warmup ended.

This beat down really stunk and got out of hand quickly, but all men put forth incredible effort and really got after it.  Was honored to lead and honored to put some work in along side these monsters.

Thanks for the keys, @Burns.  I’ll try my best to be quicker with the BB next time.

Math is fun. I like math. Therefore, when I do math during workouts, it becomes fun? Well done here, TO!
