Social Distancing at Charlie Foxtrot

PAX: Sour Mash, Schneider, Harden, 60 Minutes, Titan, The Singing Cowboy, Sgt Schultz, Fender, Tool Time, Roofy, Drama Queen

YHC pulled out of the garage on Sat with the realization that DST makes it dark again at 0630.  After a quick stop to preset the AO with a few workout aids, YHC arrived in the famous smoking set lot to find several pax already gathered.  The temperature was near perfect and a fine group arrived ready to be out of the house for perhaps the last time in the near future.  Preworkout talk ranged from what to do with out of school kids, cancelled basketball and why people buy so much toilet paper.

We began promptly at 0700 with the mission statement and an announcement that it was Pi Day.  YHC had considered a theme but noted the closest we would get was circling up. Approximately 3.14 seconds later we began with SSHs.  Other Warmorama standards were offered and the mumble chatter was strong.  Even Titan got involved during finger pointing after an early gas release.

Sufficiently warmed the pax moseyed to the school parking lot.  YHC announced that one of the sports cancelled was NCAA wrestling thus we needed to perform 4 corners with wrestling drills but no Sumo Drill today since we were practicing social distancing.

Drills included single legs (lunges), single leg defense (reverse lunges), stand ups (crowd pleaser) and sit out drills aka dry dock crabs (always a crowd pleaser – pax is getting better)

We then moseyed over to big parking lot where we found stations that would allow the pax to stay far apart while still close enough for the MC to continue.  Another feature was we would depend on one pax to let us know when to rotate to another station.  That pax ran to the top of the hill and back and then exclaim something that would let the pax know to move.  In addition to the hill run, stations were merkins, step ups, dips, penguin crunches, curls, squats, LBCs, and kettle bell swings. YHC had miscounted stations so one became pax choice – burpees optional.  Two rounds of this were completed.

We moved over to the playgound/basketball court area where a similar rotation occured.  In true Charlie Foxtrot style instructions were vague and changing and most pax paid little attention to direction until their turn at a new station – sometimes even forgetting what they had done at that station the previous round.  Again two rounds were enough of this foolishness and allowed just enough time to mosey back to the launch spot for some Mary.

We got in low flutters, gas pumps, snow angels, maybe something else and planked for 30 seconds to finish up.  Well done all.

NMM

YHC thought I knew Sour Mash’s pi movie reference but thanks to Google realized it was Revenge of the Nerds and not American Pie.  Once again F3 increases my cultural IQ

Range of pax ages spanned 50 years from Titan at 9 to YHC – a few months shy of being able to access retirement funds without penalty.

Stand ups from all fours on pavement = not the best idea

The sunrise was incredible and all pax got a perfect view while running down the hill

The variety of responses at the bottom of the hill was classic F3

Not sure when Roofy appeared but first realized he was with us as we went to playground – glad to have you join us

Shooting per centage by pax on basketball court was higher than any professional or college team’s on this date

Lot of fun out there today and plenty of work – greatly enjoyed the company and relief from everything going on
