PAX: Root Canal, H.O.G., Van Pelt and Thistle

Short BB, because it was a simple beat down.  I am terrible at pull-ups and my two sons have given me lots of grief over it as they surpassed me physically by ~age 6.  My younger son passed on a simple workout for my edification and self-improvement.  I am sure it did not accomplish either goal.

After the normal warm-a-rama, with a little downward and upward dog thrown in, we got after it.  We went to the pull up bars behind the Bryson Gym at RJR.  We did 5 pull ups, 10 merkins and 15 squats every minute for 36 minutes or so.  You rested after you got the exercises done for that minute, so less rest as time went on.  I lost track, but whatever the number, H.O.G. made us do one more. round.  That man is a beast.

It was an effective way to make sure my hair was not shampooed or dried after my shower this morning.  David Goggins’, Navy Seal, quote ran though my head after the first 10 minutes of pull ups, “embrace the suck”.

Our COT was short and I do not remember any announcements – Well, maybe the Moji Coffee Shop opening this weekend.  I remember, because Van Pelt is planning on running in with the Moji runners from Salem Lake on Saturday.  Also, prayers for Root Canal’s “grandson”, Que, for protection as he starts a new chapter of his life.

I don’t know where the keys are or how to find them Burns.  Probably near the pull up bars where I was humbled again.
