It was Possible at IS this am!

QIC: Plunger

Date: 04-13-19

PAX: Thistle, Root Canal, Ink Spot, Cheese Steak, Lysol, Lamb Chop, Quagmire (F3 Raleigh) Rustbucket, Palin, Drip, TPS, Cale (FNG-FKA Ben Barbrey) $5 Footlong, Plunger

The challenge was laid down for 15 Pax to show up at IS on the rainy Saturday morning. When YHC showed up and saw that there were no parking spaces, I took it as a good sign that we had a good chance. Little did I know that the SWAT team in training had literally surrounded the area. Nonetheless, an impressive 14 PAX did show up and answer the call. We were excited to be joined by FNG-Ben Barbrey, whoever will be known as Cale, as in Cale Yarborough, because he’s from Randelman, which is where his racing nemesis, Richard Petty is from. The disclaimer was given and we were off for the warmarama.

The warmarama consisted of the usual fare of side straddle hops, imperial walkers, peter parkers, parker peters, windmills-not Abe Vigodas, much to the displeasure of Root Canal but of course the Q heard no of that. There was good debate over Whirly’s got the clap, which our special guest from Raleigh shared the more familiar names of Cherry Pickers, etc. We added in merkins and Palin and WHC decided to have a casual conversation about form, arm positions, and the uncharacteristic similar to a push up. Finally an honor of Lysol, we call Running with Scissors, to close out the warmarama.

The Thang

The PAX moseyed to the base of the intimidator for a nice round of 4 corners with 2 sets of called exercises at each of the corners. We started with mountain climbers x20 in cadence, a slight rest in between and repeato. The PAX then moseyed backwards up the intimidator to clover where 20 monkey humpers OYO were called. The pattern of a 10 count and a repeato was continued. We then karaoked down Clover to Brookstown. Special focus was given to Cheese Steak who appeared to be barely touching the ground with his ridiculously athletic form. WHC tried to mirror it and realized the immediate back catch which would hamper the rest of the beat down. At the corner of Brookstown and Clover, the pattern was repeated with burpees. We then Appollo Creed down Brookstown for a round of squats with a special guest call from Rust Bucket. Again 2 rounds with a repeato.

It was off to the newly renovated park for part 2 of your typical No Theme Plunger Beat Down. In the park, the PAX stopped at the picnic tables and swings for what appeared to be some routine step ups, dips and irkkins, only to learn that pull ups on the swings seemed much more interesting. SO the group was divided and half did pull ups and half continued on the benches with the rotations through the steps, dips and Irkins. This went on for a ridiculously long time. Some PAX even said it seemed an awful lot like a grinder as it continued on and on. Sufficiently, smoked the PAX then moseyed to the track. Once there, Starfish was honored with several rounds of collision course where the PAX partnered up and sprinted in opposite directions around the track to then do partner sit ups/plank x20 with a flapjack. This was repeated twice and then on rounds 3 & 4 the PAX did side by side American hammers when joined together. $5 said what we were all thinking…and that was that Merlot was on the verge of being spilled. After the final round, the PAX went to the surprise for the day…the football blocking sled. In groups of 5, the PAX attacked the sled with an impressive show of power at this late stage of the beatdown. Several rounds were called until the Q was completed smoked and called for the moseyed back to the start for 9 minutes of Mary.

Mary was popcorn style/dealers choice and consisted of box cutters, LBC’s, low flutters, Root Canal’s “thistle”, Freddie mercury’s, pickle pounders, boat canoe thing, mutton crunchies, penguin crunchies with a slap, Drip’s X-factor thingy, and likely a few others that YHC simply can’t remember.

Time was called as the rain was falling.

COT
Prayers for those struggling with addiction, those in our midst who are in severe struggle with mental health issues, Cale’s nephew ( loss of his eye), Thistle’s friend, Susan. YHC took the PAX out … lifting these up and giving thanks for the laughter and push out there today.

NMN
A few notables today: Kuddos to the PAX for coming out with the threat of rain. IS won the headcount today, not that YHC is competitive or anything. TPS is not TPC … that would be YHC’s wife. Cobains! Mutten got a shoutout from his nephew, Lambchop. Kotters to $5 and Inkspot. Doesn’t look like you guys have missed a beat. Drip’s X-factor seemed a little fast, as did the Mutten crunch. Root Canal has some ridiculous obsession with the #11 up to and including confusing the PAX as he jockeys for position.

T claps to Palin for giving me the keys to IS today. YHC enjoyed the drive.
