Clocking in at the Distillery

QIC: Drama Queen

Date: 03/29/2019

PAX: Jalopy, 60 Minutes, Blue Light Special, Schneider, Buggy, Drama Queen

Busy times for YHC means not a lot of creative planning for Qs, but The Distillery was going to happen this AM with a plan or not so somewhere in the old brain pieces of a workout came together.

The new location was located easily by 5 other pax all of which were not named Sour Mash, previous Site Q and apparent HC to other member of The Band Perry.  We began anyway.

WARMORAMA

The Standards including a very nicely paced Abe Vigoda

We also performed some dynamic in the back parking area which included Hi Knees, Butt Kickers, A Creeds and Caraoke.  Awkward moment when Schneider and 60 Minutes faced each other on caraokes.  During this part of the workout we also smelled what seemed to be gas.  YHC again threw the not present Sour Mash under the bus and other comments were directed his way.  Apparently we were not far off from his later Twitter published excuse. The things people admit to on social media…

After that we moseyed over to the big parking lot where YHC had positioned exercise names on paper distributed roughly in the 12 positions of hours on a clock.  We ran to each spot, performed 12 reps of the exercise named, returned to the middle after each for 12 merkins.  Exercises alternated between abs and legs.

We then performed 4 Horsemen – 4 modes of transport with 4 burpees at the turn.  Bear crawl, Crab Walk, Duck Walk and Alligator crawl were performed by most.

More time was available so we went to the shelter and lifted some blocks in various ways.

Enough of that but we had just enough time to introduce some of the newcomers to a DQ Standard – The Sumo Drill.  About a minute of that with a good bit of MC and at least one pax on the ground was enough.

We closed with a couple of minutes of Mary and finito.

NMM

Good to meet Buggy on his 2nd post.  He performed one of the F3 newbie rituals of dropping his keys during the workout.  We quickly found them but probably ok to leave them hidden around the car at FBC Clemmons – tho not recommended at some of the other Dash AOs.

Jalopy continues to get after it in week 2 of F3.

Schneider and 60 Minutes got in an EC run.

BLS is starting to look trimmer and he was also getting after it today.

Some good MC and all seemed to get their money’s worth.

COT

YHC took us out remembering those dealing with mental illness and other tragedies and natural disasters in the world.

Sumo drills??!!! Hate to have missed that. Ahh yes, the ol’ drop your keys in the middle of the workout. Imagine many a Pax has suffered that fate. Strong work DQ!!
