Suffer with me

Ok – this BB is really late, but hey, it’s finally getting done. I’ll keep it kinda short, because I don’t remember it all by now.

PAX: Little Piggy, Razzie, Hot n Now, Offsides, Huckleberry, Zima, Hazer, Chisel, Screech, Toe Tag, Diddy and FNG, Toe Jam (Matt King) and Thistle (Q)

So a WIBish feel to The Estate beat down needed some new warm-up exercises. We did some running stretches (side lunges, single leg deadlifts, straight leg lateral swing, bent leg lateral swing, and bent leg forward swing). Most of the PAX were receptive to something new, so we were off – did some other exercises on the way to the WFU campus, but I don’t remember.

We got to the top of the hill on Faculty Drive and ran a .9 mile loop with a partner you had not partnered with before. The partners ran together and stopped at 5 designated stops to do 10 Partner Hand Release Merkin Burpees (crowd pleaser). After a 10 count, we did part of a lap and did 20 Partner WWII situps at each stop (some thought it was getting too “familiar” with your partner, but at the insistence of Zima, we continued). We ran back ~.5 miles and did some exercises along the way, concluded with a jailbreak. We had some fast youth out there today.

This morning was to remind us to be aware of our fellow man. We had to watch and listen to our partner, to run his pace and complete the partner exercises together.

I need to do this better in my day to day life. I need to open my eyes to those around me, especially this time of year. Christmas is not easy, fun or happy for everyone. Take the time to see the needs around you – lend a hand or an ear, show compassion and love.

    Thistle, I heard about this brutal workout you did Monday. Looks like awful than described.

    But your message is a strong one. Thank you for your leadership and example.
