Both Kinds of Music

QIC: Toe Tag

Date: 7/14/21

PAX: Mr Belvedere (WB), Manscape (WD), Starfish, Lemming, Sweet Tea, Cobra, Lace, Special, AirBag, Happy Man, Balco, Closer, Bluto, Organ Grinder, Toe Tag

The Q at Bells n Whistles is no easy task. The regulars expect a solid beatdown and inspirational music to make the time pass. Okay, that is not always the case. Sometimes the music is more frustrating when you are trying to guess when it hit number 7 on the charts and your wrong answers lead to burpees. YHC is no good with music trivia and have been known to mix up the music selections at Qs. So musical trivia wouldn’t work. Plus it is always good to have some variety in music. Some Pax are happy to hear a variety of music or totally upset that YHC ruined their favorite song with banjos or some such nonsense. So, the theme for the day would be in the vein of Bobs Country Bunker, we would have both kinds of music. Now that the music was selected on to the beatdown. Bells n Whistles always brings out the crowd of HIM that make every workout look easy. There is no way that YHC could ever lead a workout in cadence that would challenge this crowd. Plus, YHC hates to count during a workout, preferring to have time for MC and also wanting to keep the group together. So the standard timed event of you v you for a fixed time with a brief rest between exercises it would be. As always, there was a focus on form over number of reps and modifications were encouraged.

NMM:

Lots of MC and time for folks to get to know their neighbors today with the group staying together. We were missing a few regulars but still had a very respectable crowd today (despite the Q). The theme for the music (Bells and Whistles) was picked up on by Bluto and he will get his prize next week. Most seemed to tolerate the music this morning. Come on, where else are you going to hear Black Sabbath and Bobby McFerrin in the same playlist? There were no banjos today just in case Spam-tan decided to show up.

Great to see Happy Man back out after his intro week last week and he was killing it today.

Mr. Belvedere (FKA – Parker Richardson) was brought out by Lace. He is now a pastor at Elevation Church after a life of being a butler to a billionaire in NYC. Many names were passed around including classic man servant names like Benson and Mr French. Unfortunately, he had no idea of any of these references. So, he has some homework to do before the next workout. Speaking of workout, he had no problem keeping up with Lace who was leading the pack as usual.

Starfish needs help with Greenest this Saturday. He needs some Pax and a truck or two to help him deliver furniture and home goods for folks in the community.

This was a strong group out today and it was great to get the opportunity to lead today.

COT:

YHC took us out giving thanks for the opportunity and ability to be out with each other this morning, and allowing us to be there for each other and be the guiding light and change that we want to see in the world. Prayers were asked for the expecting parents (Mr. Belvedere and his M), and for Starfish’s family as they navigate the transition in life for his mother. Prayers were also asked for a special person battling breast cancer and also for one of the Pax who is recovering from surgery. YHC also asked for help for all of the spoken and unspoken requests as well as those that are battling addictions and having extra troubles adjusting to the world around us.

Thanks Atrophy for the keys I think that we left them on the hill.
