PAX: Cherry Pie, H.O.G., Total Recall, Bevo

Do you know your history?

Well I can say that Cherry Pie, Total Recall and H.O.G. definitely know more after this morning!  Today, we celebrated both the real Alexander Hamilton and the Broadway production “Hamilton.”

Started the morning off with a Warm-a-rama…pretty unorthodox considering the Q had to lay out the ground rules for the workout/pop quiz. J  I explained that for the last week+, my wife has watched Hamilton 11 times!!  My 3yr old is requesting it over any other Disney movie.  This does NOT include the times we listen to the soundtrack on Alexa.  So I figured I would put some historical data to use this morning.  I started off with a simple question to show how the “game” will be played.  I asked if the “How many Tony’s was Hamilton nominated for (which was a record)?”  I received 2 GUESSES and both were wrong.  I explained that anyone could answer the questions asked today, but the first answer would be taken so do not blurt out a guess…because a wrong answer was followed by a penalty.

Mosey to the atrium with the fountain which would be the base of our operations.  Upon arrival, I asked for a PAX to give me a number 1-8 which had a designated exercise tied to it.  And since today was about Hamilton, I told the guys we would show honor of the age he died at…49.  So every exercise would have 49 reps. J

Exercises:

Squats

Walking Lunges

Broad Jumps

Glute Bridges

Wall Sits

Split Jumps

Step Ups

Triple Bears

(ALL LEGS TODAY)

Through out the work out I would ask the PAX trivia, if they got them wrong, I would issue a penalty:

Penalties:

Jail Break (we extended that distance every time)

10 Burpees

If you answered the question wrong, we would stop the exercise and run out to the street and perfume the penalty.  Once completed, we would come back in pick another number for a different exercise.

A little glimpse into what this morning looked like…

Cherry pie led off the workout asking for #7 (the exercises we concealed and the PAX had no idea what the numbers correlated with) which were Step Ups.  Explaining that we would do 48 to keep it even…we didn’t even make it that far.  The first real question came up: “What U.S. currency is Hamilton on?”  If someone got it right, we would keep on doing step ups…but we didn’t even make it to 25 reps.  NONE of the PAX got this right.  I believe Total Recall was throwing out there that he thinks Grant is on the $50…but this was not the questioned asked…while Cherry Pie guessed $100 bill and H.O.G. said he thought the $5.  After telling them, with a palm over my face, that it is in fact the $10 bill….we did 10 burpees.  It went on like this with some correct answers but mostly incorrect answers given with blank stares.  Half way through, I shuffled up the workouts with a 2nd group of numbers associated to the same work outs.  So #7 was then Broad Jumps.  Kept us from picking our favorites.

Questions attached to penalties:

What U.S. currency is Hamilton on? ($10)  [Answered Wrong]

What King resided over England at the time of the Revolution? (George III) [Answered Wrong]

Which number President was Hamilton? (Was not a president)  [Answered Wrong]

Name the first 3 Presidents?  (Washington, Adams, Jefferson) [Answered by Total Recall]

What branch of the Government did Hamilton first lead and help create?  (Treasury)  [Answered Wrong]

What were name of the essays written to help rectify and defend the Constitution?  (Federalist Papers) [Answered by Total Recall]

Who killed Hamilton and how?  (Burr in a duel)  [This was actually answered before the question was asked by H.O.G.]

What office did Burr hold when he killed Hamilton?  (Vice President) [Answered Wrong]

Some other questions were thrown out there but just as fun…One specifically to pick on Cherry Pie who said he does not retain much.  I asked at the end of the work out AGAIN who was the King of England during the revolution.  I specifically told the others they could not help…his answer was Edward with a question mark on the end.  That cost us all 10 more burpees.

All good fun.

Prayers for H.O.G. as he takes a trip to Ohio to preach at a summer camp.

Thanks for the fun Gents!
