The day’s F3 Winston Salem workouts all converged at The Estate to mark Labor Day 2018 . . . Greenspan, Huckleberry, and Red Eye (YHC) served as hosts, although we weren’t very gracious to the 26 pax who showed up.  We didn’t even supply beverages at the conclusion but fortunately some others were more thoughtful.  For a day that is intended to be less laborious than most, the pax worked hard.

Warm-o-rama

Greenspan kicked things off with SSHs, Whirly’s Got the Clap, Abe Vigodas, arm swirly things, and probably something else YHC can’t recall since he wasn’t Q at this point.

Pax moseyed down to the lower parking lot to find some cones set up at ~20 yard intervals.  Greenspan had us do some kind of freaky suicide permutation.  He shared this description with the co-Qs before the beatdown, but YHC isn’t 100% sure about the numbers involved.  But 100% sure it sucked.

Run to cone 1, 10 lateral side-to-sides
Return to start, 4 divebombers
Run to cone 1, bear crawl to cone 2, 15 lateral side-to-sides
Return to start, 7 divebombers
Run to cone 1, bear crawl to cone 2, dragon crawl to cone 3, 20 lateral side-to-sides
Run to start, 10 divebombers

Plank for six.

Pax then moseyed to the stables (who knew Reynolda Village had stables?).  We found something to step up on to.  Starting with left leg, Greenspan called out varying step ups of high, low, mid for way too long of a period of time.  Took a break for some dips.  Then we returned to step ups, but this time with the right leg.

Huckleberry took over Q duties and we moseyed down the hill, hanging a right to pause at the back parking lot.  We partnered up for a Dora 1-2-3 variation.  Partner 1 ran backwards up the parking lot hill to the dumpster, then regular-style ran down the other side.  Flapjack with partner.  Exercises were 100 heels to heaven, 200 merkins, 300 monkey humpers (crowd pleaser).

Pax moseyed over to bridge for some derkins and then it was Red Eye’s turn.

We moseyed to the rugby field and ran across the field to the west end.  Lining up, we ran back across the length of the field to the east end for 100 SSHs.  Upon completion, pax ran back to the start side of the field, planking for the 6.  Next, we ran to what was most definitely the 3rd big green post (~75 yards) for 75 double count mountain climbers and then back to start.  Ran to 2nd big green post (~50 yards) for 50 LBCs, back to start.  Ran to 1st big green post (~25 yards), for 25 merkins, back to start.  Ran to other end of the field for 10 burpees, back to start.  (BTW, this is pretty much the Red Barchetta routine from the Exicon, but YHC didn’t want to mention that given its connection to a certain band that rhymes with “lush”.)

Pax were efficient and a little bit mouthy, so Q elected to do some more work.  Ran to 2nd post for 50 WWIIs, back to start.  Last round, ran to 1st post for 25 hand-release merkins.

We made our way back to the parking lot for . . .

MARY

Huckleberry led us in some Freddie Mercs and penguin crunches, and then Sgt. Schultz did his take on WWIIs.

FIN!

COT
YHC took us out.

Prayer Requests and Announcements

Continued healing for Juice Box’s knee.

Undertow’s dad is starting chemotherapy tomorrow.

BAM invited us to be men who are mindful of women in our midst, looking out that they are treated with respect.  Be smart about it, but if you see/hear others harassing women, don’t be a bystander.  Be clear that it’s not acceptable behavior.  Cobra has your back.

Sgt. Schultz is offering a York weight set for free to anyone who is willing to Q an upcoming Parliment (Tuesday mornings at Southwest Elementary).  Sounds like a good deal.

F3 Gears (cycling) starting on Sundays in October – see Undertow

Starfish has a rare midweek Q in Winston Salem at B&W on Wednesday.

NMM

Wondering if Corporate might receive a few complaints from Pure Barre since we monopolized the parking lot outside of our usual pre-dawn hours.

Some, but not all, of the Speed Tarpers stuck around for the convergence, and YHC thinks there might’ve been one or two other double downers.  Take the rest of the day off.

Van Pelt resisted a banker’s urge to make off with the loose change in the fountain.

Great to see Ice Dancer make a trip beyond WeFoCo to CeFoCo (or whatever).

It was a privilege for the three of us to Q such a fine group of men.  Have a safe and enjoyable holiday.
