Running and stuff (but mostly running)

QIC: Whirly

Date: 092317

PAX: Walter White, Interference, Poncho, Bluto, Quiver, Deep Blue, Road Apple, Tuco, Whirly

What started out as a conversation between YHC and Tuco turned into the most well attended Dawg Pound a week.

After enduring Palin’s UA yesterday (great beatdown), YHC and Tuco (but mostly YHC) conspired to do mostly a run this morning at Dawg Pound.

FIN

NMM

Because I knew I wouldn’t be the fastest runner, I was wondering how I was going to arrange for the resident fastie to know when it was time for him to turn around.  At 6:29:59, it seemed like it was going to be Interference so I asked Interence if he would be willing to wear my watch.  Then out of the blue (or maybe I should say out of the black because it was still dark), Walter White shows up- AND HE’S WEARING A WATCH!  I asked Walter White, “that thang gotta countdown timer?”  Fortunately it did, so problem solved.  [Bluto pointed out that we didn’t need a watch with a countdown timer- we could just “look at our watches and stop running after we had run a given time.”  Clearly, this man is not German, despite having a very German last name.]

Walter White did a great job of coordinating the meet up of the pax at a location that allowed us to do our exercises (and the mirror image equivalents) at places like intersections, parking lots, etc. so we didn’t have to do them in the middle of the road.  We decided to call this “hitting the greens in regulation.”  The PGA leader in this is Kyle Stanley who hits 70.66% of the greens in regulation.  Walter White surpassed that percentage by far.  Is there anything he’s not good at?

After we did the overhead claps, I threw in an exercise that I made up for last Monday’s beach themed workout at The Estate.  It’s basically the overhead clap, but you move your arms down to your side instead of over your head.  I called this the opposite, or upside down or inside out or something (“I don’t remember, I wasn’t really paying attention”), but Bluto pointed out that all of my denominations of said exercise were incorrect.  Fortunately, Tuco came to the rescue and called it the mirror image.  I don’t know if that’s correct, but Bluto stopped protesting so I’m going with it.

When we did the seal claps, Bluto pointed out that the only people that could do the mirror image of seal claps were those people on the gymnastics bodies tweets that Drano retweets.  There was a conversation about how often that occurs…

After we did the last portion of running- the jailbreak back to the parking lot- most of us violated the turn around and go back to the six policy/theme O’day because we were ready to be done, but Interference, Bluto and Poncho, because they are real men (or at least better men than the rest of us at the moment), went back and brought the six home- well done, strong.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Toetag, Earwax and Moonlight are running some heinous 30 mile, all uphill race today.  Prayers for their safety/survival.

Road Apple needs pax to sign up to Q the workout at the best AO in all of F3WinstonSalem.  Help a brother out.

I didn’t want to put this in the NMM because I don’t want to make light of it, but I learned this morning that Deep Blue has previously had a stroke.  Let’s encourage him in his fight for fitness.  BTW, he gave me permission to share this with the group.

COT

YHC took us out giving gratitude for all that we have, both as individuals and as a group.  I think I forgot to mention the 3 pax, but there’s no time like the present to ask the Lord to keep them safe and hopefully injury free as well.

Thanks for all the pax for the push, and Road Apple for the opportunity to Q.
