Black Friday Deals

So, how do you deliver on a Black Friday? Just like all of the advertising and hype, you have to over promise and under deliver. Today was no exception. The idea was to have a themed workout to celebrate the history and evolution of the shopping holiday. As interesting as the gold crash of 1869 was with the associates of the president trying to manipulate the market, it didn’t quite fit the mood for the day. Several ideas were kicked around and then it was settled. There would be a free run for all of the early birds so that they could reserve their place in line for the special deals that they would encounter later.   Since there are deals around every corner this time of year that would also figure into the mix as we went on.

The #TeachersPets had a coupon for a free run that was good until 0525 and the Pax covered between 7-8 miles depending on the participant. There was a sighting of a knife on the route today that reminded us of the name of the route, Level 1. There was one belligerent future FNG driving poorly that really needs F3. Despite these encounters all Pax survived the run and had a good laugh and finished the run and found anxious Pax in the lot looking for the best Black Friday Deal.

The doors opened at 0530 (even beat the church bell) and we started with a little Warmarama:

SSH x 15 IC

Imperial Walkers x 15 IC

Unders x 15 IC

Copperhead Squats x 15 IC

Partner Up (this would come into play later)

Line up and start The Thang:

Indian Run to corner and do 1 Merkin, 1 WWII and 1 Squat

Indian Run to next corner and do 2 Merkins, 2 WWIIs and 2 Squats

On the way to the 3rd stop YHC called an audible and had us celebrate Planksgiving. One Pax would run up the Stairway to Heaven (on side of Stevens Center) while the rest of us planked.   This did generate lots of MC and would have been a better idea if the ground was not so cold.

We went on our way Indian Running and stopping at corners to increase the number of exercises that we were doing.

We were running short of time (due to the poor clock management by the Q with the Flash Sale on Stairs and Planks). We made our way back to the lot a little after 0615 having scored a great deal of the Super 21 (with the addition of a Squat each round) for only 18 easy payments.

NMM:

There was some serious speculation as to the number of Pax who would be taking advantage of the workouts today. Many are travelling and on holiday schedules so we expected the numbers to be down. YHC was quite happy to see 7 happy Pax looking for a deal on fitness this morning.

The support and encouragement of the Pax never ceases to amaze YHC.

The Stairway to Heaven was truly an audible since YHC has wanted to try and use it in a workout sometime and today seemed as good as any day. It will make an appearance again.

Starfish made the observation that the exercises were difficult and took some time if you actually did the prescribed number of reps.

Some of the corner work served as entertainment for passengers of the busses passing by and probably didn’t hurt recruitment.

It was great to see everyone out this am.

Announcements:

The F3 Christmas Party is Dec 16th at Brookberry Farm Club house. Not sure why YHC was asked if he had previous serving experience and if he owned a tux before the invitation was extended. Everyone else can use the front entrance.

COT:

Fingers took us out with great words.
