A minimal pre-blast was sent out on Twitter yesterday so that nobody would be deterred from what was about to happen this AM, and the PAX turned out. I arrived at the bus lot at 0523 and was apparently late, as there was already a sizeable crowd forming. By 0530, 14 PAX had gathered to suffer a regrettably tough workout. After a *very* brief warm-o-rama of SSHs, Seal Claps, Copperhead Squats all X15 IC, we got started.<\/p>\n
The thang:<\/p>\n
The stretch of road between the Reynolds bus lot and the corner of Northwest & Reynolda is appx. 0.25 mi, and it is downhill\/uphill the entire way. On the way down, there were four stations:<\/p>\n
Station 1 \u2013 bus lot<\/p>\n
Burpees. Start at 5, increase by 1 each time through<\/p>\n
Station 2 \u2013 oak tree<\/p>\n
Jump Squats. Start at 15, increase by 3 each time<\/p>\n
Station 3 \u2013 Hanes Park sign<\/p>\n
French Twists.** Starts at 15 dc, increase by 3 each time<\/p>\n
Station 4 \u2013 corner<\/p>\n
Merkins. Start at 15, increase by 3 each time.<\/p>\n
Run back up the hill, repeat<\/p>\n

Simple beatdown, yet truly devastating. Lots of unhappy faces during the CoT.\u00a0 One pax, speaking on conditions of anonymity, told WXII news it was \u201cworse than Zima\u2019s flatline.\u201d All in attendance completed at least 3 miles, 43 burpees, and 235 of the other exercise.\u00a0 Litterbox impressed all comers with a world record of 7 miles (corroboration needed) in 42 minutes. Zima was on his tail the whole time, but even he couldn\u2019t keep up with the fastest of fastholes this morning. $5 Footlong has become the EH king, as he had three coworkers (LaZBoy, Red Baron, and Full Upright Position) with him this morning, all of whom were WIB warriors.\u00a0 H.O.G. and Turnover had some choice words about the hill about halfway through the workout, but it definitely didn\u2019t faze them. After some choice words on Twitter about how my workouts are \u201cdifficult\u201d and I\u2019m becoming \u201cone of those PAX to avoid,\u201d Burlap still showed up and put in a hefty down painment on his Thursday. I was trying to keep pace with Turnover (mistake), and Palin, Balco, and Lambchop were right with me the whole time. Misery loves company, I guess.<\/p>\n
Former [former x2] FNG Booking.Yeah! came to us via Lambchop. Known as Richard Shore in the adult world, he is a Winston native who went off to UNC for school and stayed in the Triangle area after graduation before moving back here. Whilst in Raleigh, he tried F3 but \u201ccouldn\u2019t remember his name\u201d (sound familiar, Turnover??). After it was revealed that he works as an accountant for a travel firm, many names were posed relating to travel websites [Expedia, Roaming Gnome, Kayak] but BDY won the day.<\/p>\n
** A note about the French Twists. Think pickle pounder, but instead up vertical up\/down movement, alternate touching each hip to the ground. I couldn\u2019t find a name in the Webster\u2019s F3 Dictionary for the exercise, and was going to suggest Hippie Pounders, but Burlap\u2019s call of French Twists was slightly less profane.<\/p>\n
