{"id":9129,"date":"2019-05-28T11:33:18","date_gmt":"2019-05-28T15:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=9129"},"modified":"2019-05-28T11:33:18","modified_gmt":"2019-05-28T15:33:18","slug":"not-so-memorable-post-memorial-day-redline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2019\/05\/not-so-memorable-post-memorial-day-redline\/","title":{"rendered":"(Not So) Memorable Post-Memorial Day Redline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen (16) pax attempted to shake off the effects of a hot, three-day Memorial Day weekend.\u00a0 The Q came up with a plan that would allow the Pax to challenge themselves, if they wanted, but allowed each Pax to set his own pace &#8212; within some guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The THANG<\/p>\n<p>Mosey from parking lot to once around track at a truly conversational pace.\u00a0 Once more around the track and over creek to the nice entrance at a 10K pace.\u00a0 Easy jog up the Intimidator (Clover) for one block.\u00a0 At corner of Clover and Carolina, the Q explained the &#8220;architecture&#8221; of the next few laps.<\/p>\n<p>When running downhill &#8212; easy jog, low effort, nice and slowly<\/p>\n<p>When running flat stretch &#8212; 10K Pace<\/p>\n<p>When running uphill &#8212; push it hard<\/p>\n<p>We used this framework for the following laps in hilly West End:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carolina to left on Brookstown to left on West End Blvd to left on Clover back up to Carolina (pick up six, jog up to Jersey)<\/li>\n<li>Jersey to left on Brookstown to left on Carolina to left on Clover back up to Jersey (pick up six, job up to 5th and Glade)<\/li>\n<li>5th St to left on Brookstown to left on Jersey to left on Clover back up to 5th &amp; Glade (pick up six)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mosey down to park entrance.<\/p>\n<p>Use same architecture as you run clockwise around park.\u00a0 Remember your finish order.<\/p>\n<p>When we returned, we lined ourselves up quickly on the steps by finish order and teamed up 1 and 16, 2 and 15, etc. to 8 and 9, forming eight (8) teams of two.\u00a0 We then moved to the track for a two-man 800 meter relay race &#8212; one lap per person.<\/p>\n<p>Finished with one more cool-down lap at conversational pace and back to parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>FIN<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>COT<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No major announcements given, but YHC will add one here:\u00a0 Lunch Bunch on Friday, May 31 at Camel City BBQ at 11:45.<\/li>\n<li>Prayers for Peacemaker and his M as she undergoes surgery today at 2:30 pm.<\/li>\n<li>Prayers for Plunger and his father as Plunger&#8217;s Dad has triple bypass and a valve replacement this Thursday.<\/li>\n<li>Prayers for the Bramblett family and all of the Auburn University family in the loss of Rod and Paula in an auto accident.\u00a0 We don&#8217;t know the definitive cause but a good reminder to put our phones down when driving.<\/li>\n<li>YHC took us out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NMM<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sadly, YHC remembers very little from this workout, thus the title of this backblast.\u00a0 This may be attributed to YHC&#8217;s lack of attention, the Pax&#8217;s lack of personality, or the fact that the Q was bringing up the rear so much and was rarely running with anyone.<\/li>\n<li>But one thing YHC DOES remember &#8212; The Vig.\u00a0 That&#8217;s right, The Vig.\u00a0 No, his name is not in the pax list above.\u00a0 He didn&#8217;t post, even though he lives approximately 500 meters from the start.\u00a0 He did have the audacity to walk calmly around the park with his cute little water bottle and to say &#8220;hello&#8221; as the pax ran past him.\u00a0 He offered no excuses, no explanations.\u00a0 He just didn&#8217;t post to #Redline even though he knew YHC was on Q.\u00a0 In fact, maybe because he knew that YHC had the Q, The Vig decided to pass and then take a leisurely stroll around the park.<\/li>\n<li>There are two types of persons in the Twitterverse &#8212; one either sides with Team Baron Von West End or Team AmericasGuest.\u00a0 Historically, YHC has sided with the Baron because of that sick affection for Duke that Ramses has &#8212; oh, and he never posts to F3 bootcamps.<\/li>\n<li>But due to this slight, this insult, this impertinence, this ignominy, this indignity and outright disrespect, I am moving over to Team AmericasGuest.\u00a0 Yes, Ramses dunks on The Vig regularly, both in real life and on Twitter.<\/li>\n<li>Oh, I think Lysol and Little Piggy won a very competitive 800 relay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please pray for YHC and The Vig as we are in GAS Group together.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Burlap<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen (16) pax attempted to shake off the effects of a hot, three-day Memorial Day weekend.\u00a0 The Q came up with a plan that would allow the Pax to challenge themselves, if they wanted, but allowed each Pax to set his own pace &#8212; within some guidelines.
