{"id":7341,"date":"2018-12-21T12:19:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-21T16:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=7341"},"modified":"2018-12-21T12:22:27","modified_gmt":"2018-12-21T16:22:27","slug":"wayfaring-through-waterford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2018\/12\/wayfaring-through-waterford\/","title":{"rendered":"Wayfaring through Waterford"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>DATE:&nbsp;&nbsp; 21 December 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>QIC:&nbsp;&nbsp; SGT Schultz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PAX:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Drama Queen, Harden, Katniss, Ramses, Sassy,&nbsp;Schneider, SGT Schultz, The Singing Cowboy, Spamalot, Sour Mash<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YHC had a hellaciously busy\u00a0day at work yesterday, leaving little spare time to come up with\u00a0route(s) and \u00a0pre-blasts publicizing the same.\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t long before the peanut gallery chimed in &#8212; shrilly &#8212; with multi-lingual demands for the route in English, Spanish and German.\u00a0\u00a0 YHC finally published the route at 1500, but failed to include a turn by turn (TBT) guide.   I realize that my reputation for land navigation prowess precedes me, but what a tough crowd!  After arriving at the SP at 0510, I posted a TBT by 0515.  By that time, Katniss and Ramses had already started.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than having to contend with a cold and rainy run in the mid-40&#8217;s, as the forecast had indicated, we were instead blessed with generally dry weather in the mid-50&#8217;s.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route was as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>SP at Waterford Pool<\/li><li>L on Glengariff<\/li><li>R on Curraghmere (YHC actually turned left here, but it all worked out fine)<\/li><li>Follow Curraghmere until it reaches Michelle Drive<\/li><li>U turn <\/li><li>Proceed on Curraghmere until you reach Rossmore<\/li><li>R on Rossmore<\/li><li>L on Lasater Road<\/li><li>L on Waterford Village Drive<\/li><li>Run the entire length of Waterford Village Drive until it dead ends<\/li><li>U turn<\/li><li>Proceed on Waterford Village Drive<\/li><li>R on Glengariff<\/li><li>R on Curraghmere<\/li><li>R on Glengariff<\/li><li>R on Kildare<\/li><li>L on Slane Road back to SP<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Total distance: 3.6 miles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total elevation: 228 feet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the route, YHC ran into Drama Queen, who had gone to the wrong pool, realized his error, drove to the correct pool, and caught up to YHC.
