We said goodbye to my friend and neighbor, Kemp Otto, aka #Hoser, earlier this week; a loss that many people are still reeling from. He was the first neighbor to come up to me and introduce himself after we moved in across the street from him. The first things he asked were How I was, and If I had a church home. That sums up who #Hoser was in a lot ways: he cared about people, and he loved God. He introduced me to F3 at a time when I was really struggling in my marriage. The PAX (and God) helped me adjust my focus on life and things have been exceptionally great again for my wife and I these past few years. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a short time knowing him, his impact was great on my life. I hate that this happened to him and his family. It was humbling to learn of #Hoser\u2019s life and see the strength of his family\u2019s faith at his funeral service. His father said it best Tuesday, that #Hoser had \u201cLived 100 years of life in 50.\u201d I hope to live like that. I also hope to learn from #Hoser\u2019s death, and look out for signs of struggle in my fellow man.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We should all acknowledge our struggles and speak out about them. The PAX are there to lean on when needed. Some guys need that support system and don\u2019t even know it\u2026 I didn\u2019t before I first posted! We should spend time EHing men who have yet to post or those who have been missing; and encourage those who post regularly to continue to do so. Tagged one or two (or fifty) on Twitter will do!<\/span><\/p>\n

In coming up with a theme for today\u2019s beatdown, the quote from #Hoser\u2019s father stuck with me. I also wanted to travel in some creative fashion to the amphitheater. Then Twitter stirred up some MC about bringing my A-game, so the silly idea to do 50 reps of everything popped into my head. And it ended up going something like this\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Prayers for TPS\u2019 friend\/coworker Terry(?) who had a double lung transplant in NJ and is doing as well as she can be.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Prayers for the Otto\u2019s, YHC basically said everything mentioned at the top<\/span><\/li>\n
  • YHC took us out asking that the we use this thing called F3 to do good in the world<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • So it looks like we had 2 PAX (@inkspot, @TPS) post as a result of our Twitter storm last night! About the same as my EH percentage\u2026 worth it!<\/span><\/li>\n
    • #TClaps to @IceDancer who rode his bike in for EC (and he\u2019s just that close).<\/span><\/li>\n
    • @Schneider was an HC last night and he kept his word! I appreciated him playing along on Twitter, kudos for putting in some work painting soccer fields shortly after our beatdown.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • @Schneider was hard at work trying to get @Buttermaker to post at #BBBC<\/span><\/li>\n
    • @Inkspot and @IceDancer are suspiciously fast at Carolina Drydocks\u2026 @Buttermaker got his form checked and realized what a difference keeping your butt raised makes!<\/span><\/li>\n
    • We swung by an overlook to admire the river during seal claps. It\u2019s a muddy, ugly red river, but there\u2019s still beauty to be found in it. Evidently there is also a rope wing that @IceDancer wants someone to use one day\u2026 he almost talked me into it by saying we use it for rope climbs! #MaybeNextTime<\/span><\/li>\n
    • 50 reps is a lot, especially for Burpees and Mike Tysons! The PAX were strong for all of them though! <\/span>Pretty sure @Boomerang did this at #TRQ on Thursday… call me inspired?<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Omaha\u2019d route took us past the horse barn, where we did Irkins on a gate instead of a bear crawl up a hill\u2026 @TPS wondered where the Bear Crawl was\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n
    • @SgtShultz never showed up this morning\u2026 he was probably bringing his A game elsewhere!<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Be a good neighbor like #Hoser, see how the new family across the road or down the street is doing.<\/span><\/li>\n
