WB), Palin, Plunger, Proehl (#Kotters), Roosevelt, Root Canal (WD), SGT Schultz, Starfish, and Ziggy Stardust<\/p>\n<p>15 PAX\u00a0plus a four-legged friend assembled at the parking lot of Wiley Middle School to experience the\u00a0Impossible Situation, and more importantly, to support\u00a0Ziggy Stardust&#8217;s VQ.<\/p>\n<p>Ziggy Stardust&#8217;s theme was Team America (an unforgettable and irreverent\u00a02004 movie by Matt Stone and Trey Parker using marionettes throughout) while also celebrating some of the achievements\u00a0by America throughout the years in support of freedom and liberty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WARMARAMA<\/strong> \u2013 Led by Ziggy Startdust<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SSHs<\/li>\n<li>Hillbillies<\/li>\n<li>Arm Swirly Things (forward and reverse)<\/li>\n<li>Whirlies with a Clap<\/li>\n<li>Abe Vigodas<\/li>\n<li>Peter Parkers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At the conclusion of WARMARAMA, mosey to the bottom of Education Hill for Station #1, celebrating the\u00a0 uncommon valor of \u00a0Americans that was a\u00a0common virtue\u00a0at Omaha Beach and the Normandy Hedgerows, ultimately resulting in the liberation of France.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STATION # 1: DORAs with 2-man teams<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>200 Monkey Humpers<\/li>\n<li>300 Flutter Kicks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While Team Member # 1\u00a0performed\u00a0 AMRAP of the given exercise, Team Member # 2\u00a0locomoted <u>backwards<\/u>\u00a0to the top of Education Hill (a quad-killer and crowd pleaser) and then ran back down to relieve his partner.\u00a0\u00a0 Flapjack until\u00a0all reps of each exercises were completed.\u00a0 Ouch!<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of Station # 1, SGT Schultz\u00a0took the reins for Station # 2.\u00a0\u00a0 The PAX moseyed to the far end of the track where pre-filled sandbags were lying in wait.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STATION # 2: 3 Man Grinders .\u00a0 <\/strong>Station #2 celebrated the Berlin Airlift, which lasted for 11 months in 1948-1949 and ended\u00a069 years ago on May 12, 1949.\u00a0\u00a0 Through the resolve of the United States and our British and French Allies and the\u00a0dream of the people of West Berlin to remain free,\u00a0efforts by the Soviets to choke off a bastion of liberty were foiled.\u00a0\u00a0 In commemoration of the Berlin Airlift, the PAX lifted bags of sand, a reasonable facsimile of the thousands of bags of flour flown into Tempelhof Airport in Berlin\u00a0by brave pilots on C-54s and C-47s.<\/p>\n<p>It went something like this:<\/p>\n<p>The PAX divide up into 3 man teams:\u00a0 1 PAX moved to the south end\u00a0of the track\u00a0carrying a sandbag in each hand, while the other 2 PAX remained at the north end of the track with a pair of sandbags.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0When the signal to start was given,\u00a0 1 North end PAX ran (without sandbags)\u00a0counterclockwise \u00bd of a lap to the south end.\u00a0 While he was running, both the South end PAX and the other North end PAX performed the first round of the sandbag resistant exercises listed below at their respective locations.\u00a0 When the running PAX\u00a0reached the South end PAX, he relieved his teammate\u00a0and began\u00a0performing the\u00a0first round of listed sandbag\u00a0exercises.\u00a0 Meanwhile, the relieved South end PAX ran counterclockwise to the north end to relieve his teammate, who had been lifting sandbags in the prescribed manner the whole time, and so on and so on.<\/p>\n<p><u>North end of track<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Curls with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Side-Arm Raises with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 Skull-Crushers with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 Upright Rows with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Cabbage Patch with sandbags<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>South end of track<\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Left leg step-ups with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Right leg step-ups with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Squats with sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Alternating Forward Lunges with\u00a0sandbags<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 Dead lifts with Sandbags<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At 0740, the PAX emptied the sand from their sandbags back into the long jump sandpit and then moseyed to the pull-up bars located in\u00a0the back of the gynmnasium building\u00a0to begin\u00a0Station 3, led by Ziggy Stardust.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STATION # 3: Pull-ups &amp; Wall-Sits:<\/strong>\u00a0 The PAX paired off into teams of 2 for 3 rounds of pull-ups and wall sits.\u00a0\u00a0 Team Member # 1\u00a0performed sets of\u00a05 pull-ups +\u00a05 hanging ab crunches, while Team Member #2\u00a0 did wall-sits until it\u00a0was his turn. <strong>FLAPJACK for 3 rounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At 0751, the PAX moseyed to the parking lot, which was performed in democratic fashion in celebration of the &#8220;Grand Experiment&#8221; that is the United States.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MARY:<\/strong>\u00a0 Various abdominal punishments meted out by Root Canal (who suckered SGT Schultz into calling on him), Cherry Pie, Roosevelt, Five Dollar Footlong and Palin.\u00a0\u00a0 A painful end\u00a0to a challenging workout.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COT:\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Announcements\n<ul>\n<li>Splash has his party tonight at 7:00 p.m. at his house. Check the earlier e-mail blast<\/li>\n<li>Schmedfest is August 25 at the Fair Grounds<\/li>\n<li>Cherry Pie has the Q Monday at #VI<\/li>\n<li>There is an opening\/need for a Q at #IS next Saturday.\u00a0 Please check with Palin<\/li>\n<li>#Kotters to Mickey, who showed up with Rocko the dog and our new FNG, Muzzle.<\/li>\n<li>#Kotters to Proehl, who had some wonderful news to share (see below) and who seemed to change outfits every 5 minutes (Showoff!)<\/li>\n<li>Welcome to Five Dollar Footlong, who\u00a0has previously posted\u00a0with the Greensboro F3 PAX but is now working in Winston-Salem and hopes to post more with the DASHPAX<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Prayer Requests\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Proehl and Danielle are expecting\u00a0a baby\u00a0in November.\u00a0 Prayers for safe pregnancy and a healthy baby<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Mickey requested prayers\u00a0 for a life changing experience for Malik and Anthony, two at-risk youth, at Rolling Hills Tar Heel Challenge so that their direction in life is shifted to a better azimuth<\/li>\n<li>Prayers for those struggling with addiction<\/li>\n<li>A #DashPAX brother is undergoing some medical testing for a potentially serious condition, prayers that all goes well<\/li>\n<li>The Hatfield Family, friends of 5 Dollar Footlong, are going on a mission trip to Calgary, Canada.\u00a0 Prayers\u00a0in support of their efforts and devotion to\u00a0spread His Word and give glory to His Name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ziggy Stardust took us out, giving thanks for F3 and his F3 brothers.\u00a0\u00a0 Ziggy Stardust recalled with both love and sorrow that his beloved father, whom he lost unexpectedly two years ago, would have celebrated his birthday today.\u00a0 Ziggy Stardust asked our Lord to help us to remember to always\u00a0turn to Him for help and guidance to be better men, brothers, husbands, sons and friends\u00a0and to honor His love for us by sharing it with\u00a0 others.<\/li>\n<li>Personal Comments (verbatime) shared by Ziggy Stardust:\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">I forgot to add to\u00a0my VQ disclaimer: not only am I not a professional, but I (pretend to be) a professor.
