Expectant father Katniss was scheduled to Q The Distillery today but with the impending birth he thought the wiser move would be to switch and YHC took up the offer.\u00a0 YHC had a plan in his back pocket that was the perfect fit for the AO.\u00a0\u00a0Noted moonshiner Popcorn Sutton may be the most famous native of YHC’s home county of Haywood in the mountains of WNC.\u00a0 His exposure on YouTube and TV’s Moonshiners has been well documented.\u00a0 If you’ve never taken the time to watch The Last Dam Run of Likker I’ll Ever Make <\/em>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=glQjCKAI4gA give it at least a scan sometime.\u00a0 Classic.\u00a0 Anyway – The Distillery was the perfect AO for a Popcorn Sutton tribute.<\/p>\n 4 pax gathered for the beatdown.\u00a0 A moonlit morning gave an even better reason to celebrate moonshine. We almost had a fifth (pax\u00a0not moonshine) as Rameses was spotted as he finished his EC run but could not be EHed into a bootcamp.\u00a0 We even promised we would tell Mongoose (obligatory Mongoose mention) but to no avail.<\/p>\n WARMORAMA <\/strong><\/p>\n We began with standard SSHs, but moved on to Hillbillies, Mountain Climbers, Copper Still Squats, Abe Vigodas and Boxing jab\/cross – since Popcorn earned his name by beating in a popcorn machine with a pool cue.\u00a0 No popcorn machines or pool cues were damaged today.<\/p>\n THE THANG<\/strong><\/p>\n Mosey to FB field for Catch me if you can since moonshiners are always running from someone<\/p>\n P1 5 merkins then sprint to catch moseying P2 flapjack until one lap around field<\/p>\n Mosey to Blocks – because there’s lots of lifting in moonshining<\/p>\n Bent over rows,\u00a0 corn\/sugar sack lifts (knee to shoulder) #crowdpleaser, OH press, and curls – because when you finish the batch you need to curl a jar to sample<\/p>\n Next we needed a fire for the still so we burned our legs a while with lunges, squats, monkey humpers and split squats. We had time for 2 rounds – the fire was burning by end of round 2.<\/p>\n We then paid respect to Popcorn’s demise – he decided suicide was a better route than going to prison so partnered up again and P1 run suicides on fb field while P2 did prisoner get ups.\u00a0 Flap jack and complete 2 rounds.<\/p>\n This went quicker then YHC thought so we did a few exercises for animals we might encounter while moonshining:<\/p>\n Bear crawls, Duck walks, and Inch worms – in honor of that important part of the still – the worm<\/p>\n Enough of that fun so back to the parking lot for Mary<\/p>\n Standard stuff finishing with YHC’s new favorite – dynamic Superman<\/p>\n NMM<\/strong><\/p>\n Harden also got in EC with Rameses.\u00a0 Maybe someday Rameses will post to a bootcamp again.<\/p>\n 4 worked well for partnering and always no place to hide in small group.<\/p>\n Blocks at AO are heavy and hard to grip.\u00a0 We probably need to move some bricks to Parliament.\u00a0 YHC will take on that chore sometime soon<\/p>\n Not a ton of MC but leg work had everyone pushing and grumbling.\u00a0 #yourewelcome<\/p>\n More pax need to get out to The Distillery – only a few minutes farther west than Parliament.<\/p>\n ANNOUNCEMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n At workout time still unknown about Katniss and M but by press time we have learned that they are parents of new baby girl – arrived at 2:54. Both Mom and baby are well.\u00a0 Katniss has been at hospital long enough to earn benefits.
