{"id":4262,"date":"2018-03-27T13:30:52","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T17:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=4262"},"modified":"2018-03-27T13:30:52","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T17:30:52","slug":"oliver-cromwell-007-and-1265-at-parliament-hedwig","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2018\/03\/oliver-cromwell-007-and-1265-at-parliament-hedwig\/","title":{"rendered":"Oliver Cromwell, #007, and 1265 at Parliament! &#8211; Hedwig"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The PAX: Sourmash, Pita, Whirly, Gemini, Harden, Drano, Inkspot, Drama Queen, Zima, Palin, Sassy, Fingers, Wobegon, Snyder, Spamalot, The Singing Cowboy, Boomerang, Shingles, Hedwig<\/p>\n<p>19 PAX took it upon themselves to embrace a history lesson about Parliament while also getting crushed in a #Burpeefreeworkout.\u00a0 There was certainly no shortage of MC this morning.\u00a0 Plus, right as YHC was about to instigate the #GunpowderPlot part of the workout, a mysterious #007 drove a delivery truck right into YHC\u2019s workout path and ruined the plot.<\/p>\n<p>The thang went something like this:<\/p>\n<p><u>Warm-O-Rama:\u00a0 <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Parliament means \u201cMeeting of Wise Men.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 Side Straddle Hop<\/li>\n<li>10 Imperial Walkers<\/li>\n<li>10 Abe Vigodas<\/li>\n<li>10 Whirlys with the Clap<\/li>\n<li>12 Arm Circles<\/li>\n<li>12 Arm Circles Reverse<\/li>\n<li>15 Squats<\/li>\n<li>Short Mosey (about 15 feet \u2013 just enough to provoke MC!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Cromwell Station:\u00a0 <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Oliver Cromwell had a reputation for being a fairly nasty brute!\u00a0 He conquered Scotland and Ireland in the 17th Century.\u00a0 Lots of animal-named exercises here because some described him as an \u201canimal\u201d!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leap Frog from Middle of Parking Lot to Edge of Parking Lot<\/li>\n<li>Guantanamo<\/li>\n<li>Sumo (in honor of Cromwell\u2019s travel around the world and to pay homage to Drama Queen)<\/li>\n<li>Bear Crawl Back to the Middle of the Parking Lot<\/li>\n<li>20 Penguin Crunches<\/li>\n<li>Crabwalk Back to the Edge of the Parking Lot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Two Houses<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Parliament has two groups:\u00a0 the House of Lords and the House of Commons.\u00a0 Zima belongs to the later.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wheelbarrow Walk Down the Side Parking Lot\n<ul>\n<li>Ab Station\n<ul>\n<li>Cross County Abs (105 LBCs total in four different position)<\/li>\n<li>20 Heels to Heaven<\/li>\n<li>15 Freddy Mercuries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Wheelbarrow Walk Back Down the Side Parking Lot\n<ul>\n<li>Ab Station\n<ul>\n<li>15 Low Flutter Kicks<\/li>\n<li>60 Second Plank<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Buddy Carry\n<ul>\n<li>Howling Monkies with 10 Reps\/Person (#ExtremeCrowdPleaser)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Buddy Carry\n<ul>\n<li>20 Jump Squats<\/li>\n<li>20 Jaunitas<\/li>\n<li>Some other exercise (YHC was hypoxic and can\u2019t remember)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Brick Area \u2013 \u201c1265\u201d<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The PAX moseyed to the brick stash.\u00a0 Parliament was constructed in the mid-13<sup>th<\/sup> century one brick at a time!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 Skull Crushers<\/li>\n<li>20 The Swimmer<\/li>\n<li>20 Curls for the Girls<\/li>\n<li>Bear Crawl with Bricks<\/li>\n<li>20 American Hammers with Passing Bricks. Thankfully Pita had the insight to correct YHC and tell him that only every other PAX should have a brick for this passing exercise to work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Gunpowder Plot<\/u><\/p>\n<p>This failed attempt at blowing up Parliament occurred in 1605.\u00a0 It was Omaha\u2019d today thanks to #007, who pulled up in that delivery truck and saved the day for the PAX.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>As hinted at earlier, the MC game was quite strong today.\u00a0 For starters, YHC knew it was going to be tough to please the whole lot of 19 Whigs.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starting out, an anonymous Whig vocally and begrudgingly did a 15 foot Mosey<\/li>\n<li>Several Whigs let YHC know exactly what they thought of the workout. #WhatWasThatSmell<\/li>\n<li>Pita saved the day by ensuring that the appropriate number of bricks were used in the Circle American Hammer exercise<\/li>\n<li>Shingles is an absolute machine. He ran with YHC on the buddy carry at lightening-speed.\u00a0 YHC thinks he and Rustbucket have similar bionic legs.<\/li>\n<li>Zima appreciated being a member of the House of Commons today. He found it inspiring.<\/li>\n<li>Drama Queen just beamed when YHC uttered the word, \u201cSumo.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Announcements<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Big Boys\u2019 Breakfast Club converges with Tractors this Friday<\/p>\n<p>Spamalot has Bells and Whistles tomorrow<\/p>\n<p>YHC had Mayhem tomorrow<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Prayer Requests<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Prayers for all those struggling with addiction<\/p>\n<p>Prayers for those dealing with medical issues and complications<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>YHC took us out in prayer and said some words from one of Isaac Watts\u2019 hymns:\u00a0 \u201cIf the whole realm of nature were ours, it would be an offering far too small, for love so amazing, so divine, demands our life, our soul, our all\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for the keys, Sgt.
