After a brief jobsite orientation and safety review, the PAX dispersed like busy worker bees. The house was donated to H4H by a bank in pretty bad shape. After the renovation it will be an energy-star house at an affordable price for a deserving family \u2013 kind of awesome. I do not recall all of the things we did, but here is what I remember:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Finished shingling roof; cut and installed roof cap<\/li>\n<li>Removed old windows and installed new ones<\/li>\n<li>Installed insulation sheeting on the outside and inside of house<\/li>\n<li>Framed and patched old eve vents and windows<\/li>\n<li>Braced carport, removed old structural columns, and prepared bean for new columns\u2026carport still standing when we left<\/li>\n<li>Framed in floor in new master bathroom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Random observations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sourmash is not as scary around powertools as he let on, he was sawing with the best of them by the end of the day<\/li>\n<li>Whirly prefers to screw while Palin prefers to nail<\/li>\n<li>Whirly likes to do as he is told, unless it is hard<\/li>\n<li>LB is very demanding<\/li>\n<li>LB likes farts<\/li>\n<li>Drama Queen and Ziggy Stardust raised the floor<\/li>\n<li>Cherry pie and touch me not had arts and crafts time cutting roof cap<\/li>\n<li>At least two non-F3 guys at the worksite got EH\u2019d<\/li>\n<li>For a bunch of non-professionals, very little oversight was provided, and it turned out great<\/li>\n<li>LB and Spicoli took the artistic approach to insulation sheeting design, very impressive<\/li>\n<li>Ziggy Stardust stated that he was not aware the workout before H4H was optional<\/li>\n<li>Lots of great work got done<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to all who made it out or expressed interest\/support. I know that everyone is busy and donating half of your Sat is asking a lot. I am honored to have a group of friends that are willing and able to rise to such an occasion. I especially enjoy construction based service as it gives me an opportunity to learn a new skill, teach someone else a new skill, and appreciate everything that went into my home.
