PETA, Thistle, Sleeper, Van Pelt (Q)<\/p>\n<p>YHC&#8217;s first Q of the famous Flatline.\u00a0 I must admit a little nervousness as to whether I could produce the high quality, high intensity workout for which Flatline is known.\u00a0 YHC is old.<\/p>\n<p>First sight of the Armageddon is that Spicoli was EARLY.\u00a0 Anybody seen four horsemen around here?\u00a0 The PAX gathered, disclaimer was given, virtual shovel flag planted, and off we went.\u00a0 But no&#8230;we did not start with a brisk dash out of the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Thang:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instead of sprinting off into the gloom, we assembled for 8-count body builders.\u00a0 10 IC.\u00a0 &#8220;A lot of counting&#8221; was heard from somewhere in the east.\u00a0 Thankfully, early bird Spicoli kept count as no one else seemed to bother.\u00a0 Then, we were off.\u00a0 To the amphitheater.<\/p>\n<p>Beach Season is almost here and we need to get swole.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 donkey kick merkins OYO&#8230;hold plank<\/li>\n<li>10 froggers OYO&#8230;hold plank<\/li>\n<li>10 low plank jacks IC<\/li>\n<li>Recover with some Imperial Walkers<\/li>\n<li>10 alt shoulder taps IC&#8230;hold plank<\/li>\n<li>10 Molotov merkins OYO&#8230;hold plank<\/li>\n<li>10 alpines\/rock skippers\/side to sides (whatever you want to call them) IC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shoulders fully smoked, we headed down Spruce, stopping along the way for series of monkey humpers.\u00a0 We made our way to the Buxton Half Pipe (not quite as inspiring as the Olympics).<\/p>\n<p>Triple Nickel on Buxton with 5 hand release burpees and 5 cliff climbers at each end.\u00a0 5x.\u00a0 Do some LBCs as the 6 comes in.<\/p>\n<p>Off to Marshall.\u00a0 Quick detour to the Benton parking lot for some back and forth hand-slap merkin ladders.\u00a0 #CrowdPleaser.\u00a0 Partner up&#8230;run halfway through lot, 20 hand slap, return to start for 19 hand slap&#8230;work your way down the ladder until you feel nauseous.<\/p>\n<p>Head back down Marshall, stopping at various intervals for more monkey humpers.<\/p>\n<p>Mary (flutter, rosalita) in the lot.\u00a0 Fini.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ye Ole Moleskine:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nice range of PAX ages, from the soon-to-be-married to the soon-to-be-grandfathers (I guess&#8230;really don&#8217;t know that to the be case).\u00a0 The mumblechatter started early with the body builders and built to a crescendo as we approached the Buxton half pipe.\u00a0 &#8220;Wait, we are going downhill.&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;We have to climb back up.&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;I have run this before.&#8221;\u00a0 &#8220;I have never run this before.&#8221;\u00a0 Luckily the triple nickel brought some semblance of calm to the morning.<\/p>\n<p>The hand slap merkin ladder was quite awful.\u00a0 Made it from 20 down to somewhere around 12.\u00a0 Next time, we will leave enough time to finish it.\u00a0 #MoneysWorth<\/p>\n<p>The utility workers enjoyed our display of monkey humpers at the corner of Marshall and 4th.\u00a0 Not sure what they are telling their M&#8217;s right now.\u00a0 &#8220;Bunch of crazy boys with names like Zima and Mutton are out there in the dark, humping in the air.\u00a0 Strangest thing I&#8217;ve seen all day.&#8221;\u00a0 #GetOverIt.<\/p>\n<p>YHC has been working on counting cadence for Mary while walking to my car to get the phone.\u00a0 Perfected it this morning.<\/p>\n<p>All pushed hard.\u00a0 We are now ready for Beach Season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Announcements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prayers for Spicoli&#8217;s buddy&#8230;fighting cancer and had emergency surgery.<\/li>\n<li>Prayers for LB&#8217;s fellow church member, Mary&#8230;also fighting cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Hanging Rock Hike on March 24 to celebrate Hedwig&#8217;s upcoming nuptials.\u00a0 Join in so you can: (1) watch Hedwig carry your stuff, (2) ask Hedwig if your hiking shorts makes your rear look big (Hedwig&#8211;LIE!), and (3) tell him that he is hiking incorrectly.\u00a0 Should be a blast.<\/li>\n<li>First Pres&#8211;opportunities to work overflow shelter.\u00a0 BAM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks for the opportunity to lead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PAX:\u00a0 Spicoli, Lite Bright, Birdhole, Hedwig, Zima, Van Gogh, Root Canal, Mutton, BAM.
