{"id":3393,"date":"2017-11-27T23:38:10","date_gmt":"2017-11-28T03:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=3393"},"modified":"2017-11-28T00:00:16","modified_gmt":"2017-11-28T04:00:16","slug":"full-cinder-block-at-village-idiocy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2017\/11\/full-cinder-block-at-village-idiocy\/","title":{"rendered":"Full Cinder Block at Village Idiocy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In planning my Maiden Q at Village Idiocy, YHC&#8217;s imagination wandered until I hit upon a theme based upon the classic Vietnam War movie <em>Full Metal Jacket<\/em>.\u00a0 More specifically, the Rifleman&#8217;s Creed uttered at Parris Island in the first half of the movie.\u00a0 Regardless of branch of service, servicemembers are taught to never leave your weapon unattended and never out of arm&#8217;s reach.\u00a0 Translate weapon to a cinder block, and you&#8217;ve got some material for a decent workout, which went something like this:<\/p>\n<p><strong>WARMARAMA<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SSHs x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>ISTs x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Arm Swirly Things x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Seal Claps x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Abe Vigodas\u00a0x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Whirly&#8217;s with a Clap x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Mountain Climbers x 15 IC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mosey to the rear of the YMCA building (negotiating construction barriers to get there) to Ye Olde Cinder Block Pile, where each PAX was issued a cinder block of their very own.\u00a0 Before getting down to The Thang, the PAX recited the following creed in unison while holding their cinder block:<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is my Cinder Block. There are many like it, but this one is mine. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>My Cinder Block is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Without me, my Cinder Block is useless. Without my Cinder Block, I am useless. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I must lift my Cinder Block true. I must lift it harder than my enemy, Mr. Couch Potato, who is trying to kill me. I must outwork him before he kills me. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>I will!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having properly committed ourselves to our task, the following occurred:<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE THANG:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curls\u00a0 with cinder block x 15\u00a0 IC<br \/>\nSkull Crushers with cinder block x 15 IC<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block down to the cinder track and continue to the first corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Merkins w\/Left Hand on Cinder Block x 15 OYO<br \/>\nSquats with cinder block x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the second corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Upright Rows with cinder block x 15 OYO<br \/>\nBus Drivers with cinder block x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the third corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Merkins with both hands on the cinder block x 15 OYO<br \/>\nCinder Block Swing x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the fourth corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Shoulder Press with cinder block x 15 OYO<br \/>\nLunges with cinder block x 15 each leg OYO<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the first corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Deadlifts with cinder block x 15 OYO<br \/>\nMerkins with Right Hand on cinder block x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the second corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Forearm Curls x 15 OYO<br \/>\nLBCs with Block x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Buddy-up<br \/>\nPartner A\u00a0 executes 10 Burpees while Partner B uses both cinder blocks to perform Below Sea Level Merkins, then flapjack<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the third corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Calf Raises holding cinder block in a John Cusack mode x 15 OYO<br \/>\nSide Ab Raises with cinder block x 15 OYO (each side)<\/p>\n<p>Mosey with cinder block to the fourth corner of the track<\/p>\n<p>Curls\u00a0 with cinder block x 15\u00a0 OYO<br \/>\nSkull Crushers with cinder block x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Return to the arms room to turn in our cinder blocks<\/p>\n<p>Before doing so, execute one more round of Partner A\u00a0 executing 10 Burpees while Partner B uses both cinder blocks to perform Below Sea Level Merkins, then flapjack<\/p>\n<p>Mosey to the picnic shelter<\/p>\n<p>Dips x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Left Leg Step Ups x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Right Leg Step Ups x 15 OYO<\/p>\n<p>Return to the parking lot for Mary<\/p>\n<p><b>MARY<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><\/b>American Hammer x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Side Crunches left side x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Side Crunches right side x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Freddy Mercuries x 15 IC<\/li>\n<li>Elbow Plank until 0615 hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>COT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BeastLite took us out, thanking our Lord for our many blessings and asking Him to work through each of us to spread his Love<\/p>\n<p><strong>NMM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BeastLite and YHC had fun reciting our favorite lines from Full Metal Jacket as we ran along together, many of which come from this scene:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\"
