Unfortunately, a few minutes later YHC’s speaker apparently became the **first casualty of war** and died. So we continued blasting angry music through YHC’s phone at approximately the volume of an irritated mosquito.<\/p>\n

Then we moseyed to the battlefield.<\/p>\n
Four cones had been established as our **trenches**, roughly 25 yards apart.<\/p>\n
Well…technically four cones were established.<\/p>\n
YHC apparently forgot to establish an **exercise at the fourth one.**<\/p>\n
Outstanding military planning.<\/p>\n
More importantly, today’s standing order was:<\/p>\n
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**<\/p>\n
Finish early? Keep working until the entire unit is ready to advance.<\/p>\n

On the return trip, we repeated the exercises at each trench, except Bear Crawls were replaced with **Army Crawls.**<\/p>\n
Because nothing says *Trench Warfare* quite like crawling through wet grass before sunrise wondering what decisions led you here.<\/p>\n
Eventually we returned to the first trench.<\/p>\n
Zima looked around and asked something along the lines of:<\/p>\n
*”Is this all you had planned?”*<\/p>\n
YHC looked at him sideways.<\/p>\n
**”Yup.”**<\/p>\n
Except YHC had neglected to mention one small detail…<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udca3 **GRENADE!!!**<\/p>\n
At ANY point someone could yell **GRENADE!**<\/p>\n
When called, everyone immediately got up and sprinted across the entire battlefield and back.<\/p>\n
And, of course…<\/p>\n
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**<\/p>\n
After a few rounds, YHC decided to distribute grenade-launching authority amongst the PAX.<\/p>\n
YHC specifically informed Zima that **he had the next grenade.**<\/p>\n
Rudolph apparently heard:<\/p>\n
*”RUDOLPH, IMMEDIATELY YELL GRENADE.”*<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udca3 **”GRENADE!!!”**<\/p>\n
Zima: *”Okay…that didn’t really sound like my voice, but whatever.”*<\/p>\n
\ud83e\udd23<\/p>\n
By grenade number 8…9…10…YHC began realizing he had made a significant tactical error.<\/p>\n
The Q was smoked.<\/p>\n
\ud83d\udc80 **OMAHA!**<\/p>\n
But one HIM still had unfinished business.<\/p>\n
### \ud83d\udcaa VAN GOGH \u2014 LEAVE NO MAN BEHIND<\/p>\n
Van Gogh missed IPC yesterday because he was busy **Q’ing WIB**, so this morning he decided to complete IPC **WHILE THE REST OF US WERE DOING TRENCH WARFARE.**<\/p>\n
Absolute beast.<\/p>\n
And he **CRUSHED IT.**<\/p>\n
So instead of finishing with another grenade, the PAX rallied around Van Gogh, cheered him on, and helped get our brother across the **IPC finish line.**<\/p>\n
Honestly, that ended up being the perfect finish to a workout built around:<\/p>\n
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**<\/p>\n
Nobody finishes alone.<\/p>\n

Today we pretended we were going into battle.<\/p>\n
But Scripture reminds us that we’re already in one.<\/p>\n
**”Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” \u2014 Ephesians 6:11**<\/p>\n
Life will hit us with things we don’t see coming.<\/p>\n
Temptation. Fear. Anger. Loss. Doubt. Hardship.<\/p>\n
But God doesn’t send us onto the battlefield defenseless.<\/p>\n
He gives us the **Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and Sword of the Spirit.**<\/p>\n
The battle is real.<\/p>\n
**So put on the armor. Stand your ground. And don’t try to fight it alone.**<\/p>\n
