{"id":27363,"date":"2026-09-18T11:09:25","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T15:09:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=27363"},"modified":"2026-09-18T11:09:25","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T15:09:25","slug":"all-quiet-on-the-western-front-until-it-wasnt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2026\/09\/all-quiet-on-the-western-front-until-it-wasnt\/","title":{"rendered":"All Quiet on the Western Front, Until it Wasn&#8217;t"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>YHC just about slept through my alarm this morning. \u00a0\u00a0I knew I needed to set up IPC week 2 in the large field at Western Front.\u00a0 So I threw on my gear, got my utility lights, cones, tunes and power pack in case the speaker was not charged.<\/p>\n<p>I arrived at Western Front, and parking lot had quite a few cars there.\u00a0 Rollback, Workbench, Schlitz, Slowpitch and Zyphr were rolling out for a 10k.<\/p>\n<p>I pull in and I see the sprinklers going and I am saying Hell Yes to myself.\u00a0 The Duck loves some moisture, especially sprinklers because I knew this one was going to suck.\u00a0 I pulled out my trusty measuring wheel to step off the 100 yards of running and the 25 yards of bear crawling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Thang<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>45-minute AMRAP.<\/p>\n<p>Start at the goal line.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the following sequence:<\/li>\n<li>Run 100 yards<\/li>\n<li>12 Bonnies (2-count)<\/li>\n<li>Bernie 100 yards (back to start line)<\/li>\n<li>12 HR Muricans<\/li>\n<li>Jimothy Bear Crawl 25 yards\n<ul>\n<li>Finish with a somersault into the WW1s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>12 WW1s<\/li>\n<li>Crawl Bear 25 yards (back to start line)<\/li>\n<li>12 Burpees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That is Round 1.<\/p>\n<p>Then raise the number.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE ROUNDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Round 1: 12 reps of each exercise<\/p>\n<p>Round 2: 24 reps<\/p>\n<p>Round 3: 36 reps<\/p>\n<p>Round 4: 48 reps<\/p>\n<p>Round 5: 60 reps<\/p>\n<p>Continue increasing by 12 until the 45 minute clock expires.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCORING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your score is:<\/p>\n<p>TOTAL YARDS + TOTAL REPS COMPLETED<\/p>\n<p>Stop where you are when the clock expires.<\/p>\n<p>Record:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The round number you were working on<\/li>\n<li>Number of reps for exercise you were working or . . .<\/li>\n<li>Distance you traveled towards next station<\/li>\n<li>Use those to tally your cumulative score<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>NMM:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DQ is a beast. Him and Super Fly were in their own world.<\/li>\n<li>Hugo \u2013 fresh off a trip to Iceland was feeling it, but did not look like he lost a step<\/li>\n<li>Rudolph \u2013 back on the regular routine and got after it hard. Him and YHC were remembering how great the 80\u2019s and 90\u2019s were, and how it was such a simpler time.<\/li>\n<li>Draftee, Ziffel and Sea-Man were holding strong. I did not hear much mumble chatter out of them, so I know they were working hard.<\/li>\n<li>VG and Tonka were both pushing each other extremely hard and they had at least one round ahead of the group.<\/li>\n<li>Adobe \u2013 that rug really tied the room together<\/li>\n<li>TO \u2013 still can\u2019t pull out of a garage (inside joke)<\/li>\n<li>Frostbite was super brave for listening to all of us old men complain. I am waiting on a text from him asking me to \u201cplease email me the rest of this story\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Ironically the workout was called \u201cRaise the Flag\u201d and this was the first time I have forgotten that flag since we started this AO. Damn getting old sucks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>COT<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prayers for ailing relatives and friends<\/li>\n<li>YHC mentioned for everyone to reach out to someone whom they have not heard from in a while. We never know what someone is going through.<\/li>\n<li>I also mentioned that we need to look for the positive and not the negative.
