Lexington. Concord. Valley Forge. Yorktown. Liberty. Coupons were carried, rifle carried, murder bunnied, farmer carried, and eventually abandoned in favor of a bear crawl around the loop because apparently suffering wasn\u2019t sufficient yet.<\/p>\n<p>The Beatdown<\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 Concord<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>50 Goblet Squats<\/li>\n<li>5 Burpees<\/li>\n<li>Rifle Carry coupon to Lexington<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 Lexington<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>2 laps around the field<\/li>\n<li>5 Burpees<\/li>\n<li>Murder Bunny ~50 yards to Valley Forge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 Valley Forge<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>50 Freddie Mercuries<\/li>\n<li>5 Burpees<\/li>\n<li>Double Farmer Carry (~175 yards) to Yorktown<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 Yorktown<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>50 Military Count Side Straddle Hops<\/li>\n<li>5 Burpees<\/li>\n<li>Bear Crawl Wahoo\u2019s Loop back to the start\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 Liberty<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Merkins<\/li>\n<li>50 WW2s<\/li>\n<li>50 Curls<\/li>\n<li>50 Overhead Press<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then, at long last\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Mary.<\/p>\n<p>The six was never far behind, but the front of the pack learned that every new station greeted them with the same welcome:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDown\u202650 merkins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mumblechatter<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWait\u2026that\u2019s another 50?!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cRollback, I thought America believed in freedom.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThis feels oddly unconstitutional.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Zima inspected approximately 247 of the 250 merkins and found at least 246 to be suspicious.<\/li>\n<li>Tonka produced three measurable drops of sweat. Witnesses confirmed this historical event.<\/li>\n<li>Sea-Man quietly observed, \u201cThis really isn\u2019t much different than some of the military training we used to do.\u201d Coming from a Navy veteran, QiC will happily frame that compliment.<\/li>\n<li>Rubber Ducky and Slow Pitch discovered they share the prestigious Twin Toes Society, united by arthritic big toes. Ducky also reported that his surgery has been scheduled for three consecutive Octobers. We\u2019ll believe it when we see it.<\/li>\n<li>Zephyr wisely left the white shoes at home. Growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By the end, the PAX had completed the full 250 merkins, along with goblet squats, field laps, murder bunnies, Freddie Mercuries, double farmer carries, side-straddle hops, burpees, a lengthy bear crawl, WW2s, curls, and overhead presses.<\/p>\n<p>COT<\/p>\n<p>Two hundred and fifty years is remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>Not because America has always gotten everything right\u2014we certainly haven\u2019t\u2014but because generation after generation has continued striving toward the ideals first declared in 1776: liberty, equality, opportunity, and self-government.<\/p>\n<p>The men standing in the gloom this morning come from different backgrounds, careers, personalities, and perspectives. We don\u2019t have to agree on everything to lock shields, encourage one another, and carry the load together.
