{"id":27026,"date":"2026-06-27T17:31:59","date_gmt":"2026-06-27T21:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=27026"},"modified":"2026-06-27T17:31:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-27T21:31:59","slug":"tour-de-draftee-stop-12-nfl-combine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2026\/06\/tour-de-draftee-stop-12-nfl-combine\/","title":{"rendered":"Tour de Draftee Stop #12: NFL Combine"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer\" data-section-id=\"1b9meco\" data-start=\"352\" data-end=\"364\">The Thang<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"366\" data-end=\"442\">The Tour made its way to Western Front for an NFL Combine-inspired beatdown.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"444\" data-end=\"545\">The PAX paired up based on similar ability and IQ before being drafted onto Team Orange or Team Blue.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"575\">The Combine events included:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"713\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1ed44lh\" data-start=\"577\" data-end=\"596\">Shuttle Run Relay<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"htw8b1\" data-start=\"597\" data-end=\"621\">3-Cone (L-Drill) Relay<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"lhirmw\" data-start=\"622\" data-end=\"635\">Merkin Test<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1d1h3w0\" data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"646\">Wall Sit<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1psg9rm\" data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"667\">40-Yard Dash Relay<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"12trim0\" data-start=\"668\" data-end=\"713\">Murder Bunny &amp; Bear Crawl with a Push Relay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"762\">The workout concluded with two minutes of Mary.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"764\" data-end=\"800\">Everything was completed as planned.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1bgcoqn\" data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"814\">The Story<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"816\" data-end=\"860\">Every NFL prospect eventually gets measured.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"868\">Speed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"879\">Strength.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"889\">Agility.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"905\">Explosiveness.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"907\" data-end=\"937\">This morning was no different.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"1097\">The shuttle relay was the perfect opener. It looked simple on paper, but by the second trip everyone realized it would be a much longer morning than expected.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1263\">The L-Drill reminded the PAX that changing direction at full speed is a learned skill. Nobody mastered it on the first attempt, but everyone improved on the second.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1487\">The wall sit revealed that there are apparently several interpretations of a ninety-degree angle. Some leaned comfortably against the wall. Most hovered somewhere around 120 degrees. A select few actually found 90 degrees.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1518\">All were still better for it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1520\" data-end=\"1694\">The 40-yard dash proved to be the perfect sprint to close the speed portion of the Combine. Everyone understands forty yards. Running it twice at full speed is another story.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1897\">The final event\u2014Murder Bunny followed by Bear Crawl with a Push\u2014shifted the challenge from physical to mental. Each trip took several minutes, forcing every HIM to embrace the grind one cone at a time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"2104\">While teammates waited for their leg of each relay, nobody stood around. The PAX chose their own adventure to keep the heart rate elevated: high plank, side straddle hops, mountain climbers, or air squats.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2106\" data-end=\"2176\">Perhaps the best part of the morning wasn&#8217;t a particular event at all.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2178\" data-end=\"2203\">It was the encouragement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2205\" data-end=\"2363\">There was very little trash talk between Team Orange and Team Blue. Instead, teammates pushed one another, celebrated each effort, and made each other better.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2365\" data-end=\"2388\">That sounds a lot like:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2438\"><strong data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2438\">Show up. Lift your brother up.
