Clock Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><b>Introduction<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">YHC would have liked to have started this intro with \u201cfootball is in the air\u201d, but it\u2019s still too warm (as evidenced by all of the record setting game temperatures during yesterday\u2019s games) and despite being in North Carolina for 20 years now, can\u2019t really consider the Panthers a real football team yet. \u00a0So, it doesn\u2019t quite feel like football season, but we\u2019re slowly getting there. \u00a0Maybe YHC can lead another workout again when the true fall football weather hits in a few weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Q-drenaline was strong this morning as YHC thought he prepared a creative beatdown to unleash on the PAX. \u00a0The theme would be football related (obviously) and we\u2019d take on the perspective of each position group. \u00a0Giddy with excitement at the prospect of wearing it, the Q-for-the-day even dusted off his old high school football jersey (seriously) for the first time in over 20 years. \u00a0We were certainly ready to rock. \u00a0As Toe Tag and YHC warmed up by tossing around the old pigskin at the launch spot, the PAX began to trickle in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">5:30 am. \u00a0The ball was placed on the tee (figuratively) and the ref blew his whistle (again, figuratively). \u00a0The disclaimer (blah, blah, blah) was given by Zima to the FNG and moderately approved by Burlap, who claimed it was close enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Warm-O-Rama:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cheerleaders are an important part of the game, so we did 3 TDs worth of <\/span><b>SSH<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since YHC has a brief history with long snapping, we did 2 TDs worth of <\/span><b>Whirlies with the Snap<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC. \u00a0Much to Van Gogh\u2019s disappointment, we were not snapping our fingers in cadence, but pretending we were snapping the ball through our legs to the punter. \u00a0I can\u2019t believe I had to explain that.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Because all players like <\/span><b>Merkins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, we did 2 TDs worth of those IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To keep the competition fair, referees are integral and use all sorts of hand signals to communicate to the players, coaches, and fan. \u00a0To signify a loss of down, we placed our hands behind our heads and did 1 TD of <\/span><b>Imperial Storm Troopers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC. \u00a0We then placed our hands on top of our heads to signify too many men on the field (admittedly, this would have gone over better if at least 5 more PAX had posted) and also did 1 TD of <\/span><b>Hillbillies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the fun of it, we all did 2 TDs worth of <\/span><b>Burpees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> OYO.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Fans:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Done with warm ups, we moseyed over to the school and found the closest wall. \u00a0Time to assume our role of fans and take a seat (<\/span><b>People\u2019s Chair<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While sitting and trying to figure out exactly what would possess Rust Bucket to be a life long Browns fan, we cheered on our teams by waving our hands around and clapping with 4 TDs each of <\/span><b>Jack Reachers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><b>Seal Claps<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since as a Giants fan, YHC\u2019s season is completely upside down (a preseason Super Bowl contender???), we flipped upside down and did a TD + FG of <\/span><b>BTTW Pushups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> OYO.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Entire Team (pre-game):<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We moseyed to the sports fields behind JMS and found the wrong kind of \u201cfutbol\u201d goals on it. \u00a0No matter, we\u2019ll go around them.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As every high school football player in the country has done during the dog days of double sessions or two-a-days, we lined up for some <\/span><b>Up\/Downs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u00a0The PAX quickly chopped their feet and hit ground as the Q called \u201cdown\u201d, and just as \u201cquickly\u201d, popped back up. \u00a02 TDs worth were completed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Still in pre-game mode, we warmed up our legs by doing 25 yards of <\/span><b>High Knees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>Apollo Creeds<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>Carioca<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and <\/span><b>Butt Kickers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u00a0For the fun of it, we added 1 FG of <\/span><b>Burpees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at the end (for Toe Tag).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Quarterbacks:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The QB is a fairly prominent position on the team, but without the use of a ball or rocks or cinder block, YHC had Q\u2019s block on what to do, so we went with a <\/span><b>Quarter Pounder<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run 25 yards; do 25 <\/span><b>Mountain Climbers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; Backpedal back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run 50 yards; do 50 <\/span><b>Merkins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; Backpedal back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run 75 yards; do 75 <\/span><b>WWIIs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; Backpedal back.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Run 100 yards; do 100 <\/span><b>Plank Jacks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; Backpedal back.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some teammates planked or Al Gore\u2019d or just put their hands on their knees until the 6 was up.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Offensive Linemen:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Offensive linemen are big and they play \u201cO\u201d. \u00a0What else would we do, but the <\/span><b>Big O<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">? \u00a02 TDs each way IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since the key to being on the O-line is staying low, we did 4 TDs of <\/span><b>Low Squats<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Then we partnered up and did <\/span><b>Partner Pullups<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (2 TDs worth for each arm, both partners) OYO. \u00a0The Q answered the question of \u201chow many\u201d incorrectly and did some Burpees as a punishment. \u00a0It was supposed to be 1 TD each arm for a TOTAL of 2 TDs. \u00a0Q FAIL.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Linebackers:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Next up were the linebackers, so we ran to a line and back. \u00a0See what YHC did there? \u00a0Luckily F3 has a name for that and it\u2019s called <\/span><b>Jacob\u2019s Ladder<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u00a0Today, we were inside linebackers, so we started with 1 TD of <\/span><b>Ranger Merkins<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (hands inside) and 1 XP of <\/span><b>Heels to Heaven<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I think it was around this time that Burlap expressed his admiration for this morning\u2019s beatdown. \u00a0I\u2019m always happy to oblige.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Special Teams:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Punters need really high leg kicks, so we loosened up with 2 TDs of <\/span><b>Toy Soldiers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Then once the ball was kicked, we were gunners, so we <\/span><b>Sprinted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to the end of the field and back. \u00a0Unfortunately, there was a false start, so we had to repeato (and also pick up the cones so the lazy Q wouldn\u2019t have to go back and get them himself).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is where the colossal Q FAIL of the day came in where the Q did not correctly use his timeouts or manage the clock properly. \u00a0With at least 4 position groups remaining and a multitude of fun exercises, we were almost out of time. \u00a0At this point, we decided to head back to the locker room (i.e. launch point).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Defensive Linemen:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Two minute drill &#8230;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since we had a tiny bit of time, we needed to pretend we were defensive linemen exploding off the line, so we did a quick set of 1 TD worth of <\/span><b>Mike Tysons<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> OYO.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Mary:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, in a show of solidarity with all of our brethren today, we did 1 TD worth of <\/span><b>Trump Twists<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> IC.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Final whistle blew. \u00a0Game over.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Today\u2019s Q\u2019s Random Musings:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can check the list hanging in the locker room, but all PAX present today made the cut for varsity. \u00a0Next practice is tomorrow morning, 5:30 sharp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Q had very poor clock management skills (Eli Manning, anyone?) and didn\u2019t allow the PAX to experience some of the other positions &#8211; RB, WR, DL, CB, OLB. \u00a0Like the good Manning QB, he had to Omaha half of his Weinke.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Much R-E-S-P-E-C-T this morning. \u00a0I guess the young rookies couldn\u2019t handle a real beatdown.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Q did not earn extra yardage by wearing a coach shirt or having a whistle, much to the dismay of the PAX.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One unnamed member of the PAX drank too much overpriced Bud Light from the beer vendor and decided to sneak away to spill a little.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Announcements:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Welcome FNG Stats, formerly known as Andrew Starnes. \u00a0Toe Tag is back on the recruiting trail, trying to reclaim his Rush Chair title for the #FNGChallenge. \u00a0Stats has his MPH and is finishing up his MD. \u00a0He\u2019s married and has 3 kids and gives a lot of credit to his wife (even though she wasn\u2019t around to hear it). \u00a0Originally from Washington (none of the grunge names stuck), went to school in Idaho &#8211; slowly migrating eastward. \u00a0He offered to sing musical numbers from Oklahoma. \u00a0(RB doesn\u2019t know the difference between Kansas and Oklahoma). \u00a0He told us that he met TT when he presented a paper on some statistical medical thing that nobody understood. \u00a0He tried to explain, but it sounded like the teacher from Charlie Brown and I think the last thing anyone heard was statistics, so welcome Stats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Site Qs, please update the Google Calendars.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight:
