YHC decided to honor the greatest sport on earth (in my humble and completely unbiased opinion) \u2014 hockey<\/b> \u2014 and my former hometown squad, the legendary Boston Bruins.<\/p>\n

7 strong HIMs laced up their imaginary skates:<\/p>\n

@wobegon, @ziggy stardust (WD), @atrophy (KOTTERS!), @subfloor (WB), @drano, @drip, and YHC.<\/p>\n

No Zamboni. No boards. Just blocks and bad decisions.<\/p>\n

\u2e3b<\/p>\n

\ud83e\udd45 Warmarama (Stats Don\u2019t Lie)<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Side Straddle Hops x21 (Bruins Stanley Cup Finals appearances)<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Imperial Storm Troopers x21 (because consistency matters)<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Abe Vigoda x6 (Stanley Cup wins)<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Whirly with a Clap x6 (same reason, more dizziness)<\/p>\n

Right away, PAX learned this would be less \u201cfigure skating\u201d and more \u201cchecking into the boards.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u26f8 Mosey to Blocks \u2013 Penalty Box Edition<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

We started with 2-minute penalties<\/b>:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a01 Wall Sit while passing the block (The Legs feed the Wolves ~Herb Brooks)<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a01 Belly-to-the-wall hold while passing the block<\/p>\n

The second evolution quickly turned into a live demonstration of why grown men should not attempt to pass concrete blocks while face-planted up against a wall. We tried!<\/p>\n

Whistles blown. Dignity questionable.<\/p>\n

\u2e3b<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc3b The Spoked B Gauntlet<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Cones were strategically placed to simulate the Bruins\u2019 spoked B logo \u2014 8 glorious points of suffering.<\/p>\n

From the center: Bruin Crawl (bear crawl) gliding the block across asphalt<\/b> to each station and back.<\/p>\n

Because hockey players don\u2019t walk… they glide!<\/p>\n

The Stations:<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

1\ufe0f\u20e3 21 Blockees (Finals appearances)<\/p>\n

2\ufe0f\u20e3 21 Block Thrusters<\/p>\n

3\ufe0f\u20e3 21 with block or 29 without block V-Ups (29 for the amount of straight playoff years by the Boston Bruins)<\/p>\n

4\ufe0f\u20e3 21 Alternating Merkins<\/p>\n

5\ufe0f\u20e3 65 American Hammers<\/b> (most wins in an NHL season, Boston Bruins – 2022\u201323)<\/p>\n

6\ufe0f\u20e3 21 Overhead Press<\/p>\n

7\ufe0f\u20e3 21 Breakdance Merkins (because hockey players have edge work)<\/p>\n

8\ufe0f\u20e3 135 Air Squats<\/b> (most points in a season, Boston Bruins – 2022\u201323)<\/p>\n

By the time we hit 135 squats, several PAX were reconsidering their favorite sport.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfd2 Overtime \u2013 3v3 Style<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Since playoff hockey means sudden death, we rifle carried blocks around the Spoked B 3 times<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Rule: Drop the block = 2:00 delay of game penalty<\/b>.<\/p>\n

We had 2 penalties<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Apparently concrete is slippery when your arms are noodles.<\/p>\n

Before serving penalties, we ran suicides (ladders) x2<\/b> because if OT doesn\u2019t settle it, we go to a shootout.<\/p>\n

Nobody scored. Everyone lost. No Blocks were harmed in the making of this Q!<\/p>\n

\ud83e\uddf1 Plankarama<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

To close it out:<\/p>\n

2 \u2013 2:00 planks<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

(Penalty minutes must be served.)<\/p>\n

Shoulders trembling like a rookie in Game 7.<\/p>\n

\u2e3b<\/p>\n

Blocks away.<\/p>\n

Circle of Trust.<\/p>\n

No sticks.<\/p>\n

No skates.<\/p>\n

No ice.<\/p>\n

Just 7 HIMs honoring hockey the only way F3 knows how \u2014<\/p>\n

with asphalt, statistics, and suffering.<\/p>\n

In the spirit of full NHL transparency…we’d like to congratulate the Carolina Hurricanes and their fans, who were present today, on another strong effort…But, some teams lift cups and others simply lift expectations…and then gently set them back down!<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins taught us today that if you’re going to suffer…suffer while making history!<\/p>\n
