WESTERN FRONT \u2014 INAUGURAL BEATDOWN<\/span><\/p>\n

The line has been drawn.<\/span><\/p>\n

At 0455 the early risers launched for various distances of running, rucking, and poor choices. Optional Warm-O-Rama began at 0525, because Western Front may be gritty \u2014 but we\u2019re not reckless. (Though some thought the Q couldn\u2019t tell time, they were advised to learn to read, particularly the preblast, that clearly stated an optional warm up at 0455 – Zima). At 0530 sharp, we circled up, called the Mission Statement and Five Core Principles, and promptly rifle-carried our coupons to the field like men who had been waiting 18 months for this moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rubber Ducky \u2014 newly minted Site Q and long-time prophet of the Western expansion \u2014 finally saw the vision become flesh. There are historians who claim he\u2019s been talking about starting this AO since the Civil War. Today, he stood vindicated.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it felt like a convergence\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

THE THANG<\/span><\/p>\n

10 Real Blockees (with jump \u2014 no counterfeit knockoffs)<\/span><\/p>\n

Run ladder: 250m \/ 500m \/ 750m \/ 1000m<\/span><\/p>\n

No audibles. No mercy. No retreat.<\/span><\/p>\n

The field spread naturally. Vests were plentiful. Mumblechatter was abundant.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was loud. It was unified. It felt significant.<\/span><\/p>\n

THE FINISH<\/span><\/p>\n

As rounds concluded and lungs burned, those finishing early did not wander.<\/span><\/p>\n

We rounded up.<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, we bear crawled 50 meters \u2014 symbolically pushing the Western Front line forward.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the line, we dropped into plank and held for the six.<\/span><\/p>\n

And we held the line.<\/span><\/p>\n

No one finished alone.<\/span><\/p>\n

That moment will matter more than the reps.<\/span><\/p>\n

NMM<\/span><\/p>\n

Sea-Man went out front early and simply never came back. Blind Date is rapidly becoming a fast-hole \u2014 quietly dangerous. Tonka wore no less than 60 pounds in his vest and shed a single bead of sweat. It is suspected he hydrates exclusively with motor oil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drama Queen complained the entire time while absolutely obliterating the workout. Turnover informed me, \u201cI knew you would come up with something stupid like this, Rollback\u2026 and yet I still came out.\u201d (Wearing a vest.) Life choices were questioned. Mostly his.<\/span><\/p>\n

Greenspan is subtly evolving into Mongoose 2.0 \u2014 issuing surface condition reports and offering unsolicited terrain analysis. Good to see him out, even if the grass was not perfectly manicured to Olympic standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schneider muttered something about \u201cnot coming back.\u201d We\u2019re confident that means he\u2019ll be early next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schlitz provided running commentary unsuitable for publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zima showed up in what can only be described as a styrofoam weight vest with a styrofoam coupon. OSHA has been notified.<\/span><\/p>\n

Slow Pitch rounded the field like he was tagging second and heading for third. The glory days live on.<\/span><\/p>\n

Data appeared outside of Rock Quarry and Purgatory \u2014 a rare wildlife sighting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Madoff came in from down range (Louisiana) proving once again that the Western Front has national reach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Singing Cowboy and Wahoo kept steady cadence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drip smiled like he always does.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frostbite (Nantan and War Baby) quietly supported the launch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adobe, Zephyr, Palin, Ziggy Stardust \u2014 all in the mix.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spicoli and Lambchop were deeply affronted at the audacity of launching a Friday bootcamp instead of remaining loyal to Urban Assault. Their feelings were processed extensively in absentia. Prayers were offered for their AO during CoT. We wish them well in their time of transition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rubber Ducky smiled the smile of a man who can finally stop saying, \u201cWe really should start something over here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Drama Queen is reportedly filing a grievance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schlitz remains unfiltered.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turnover\u2019s knees have entered the chat.<\/span><\/p>\n

This wasn\u2019t just another workout. It felt like planting something. The western edge of our region now has a line in the sand \u2014 and men willing to hold it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Western Front is open. Now we grow it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bring an FNG. Bring a vest. Bring a friend who thinks he\u2019s too busy.<\/span><\/p>\n
