As I walked to Speas I was joined by The Singing Cowboy on his way back from a 2 mile EC run. He slowed to stroll the last few yards with me and it was nice to chat with him about plans for the day. We soon had a crowd of 13, including 3 x 2.0\u2019s and a brother of Blind Date in from Roanoke for an FNG! \u00a0Perfect for our family friendly workout plans. Some greetings and chitchat and we started at 7 with MS and CP, then jumped in to Warmarama. I singled out Yukon Cornelius as having the most fun form of SSHops but he hid behind Dad. Several of us tried to copy his full body enthusiasm for the exercise. \ud83d\ude01 Then more warmup with Abe V, Whirlies, Y-flies, arm circles, Mike Phelps, CH squats, and one long deep stretching squat.
\nFirst thang: \u00a0Box of Silly Walks. First side of the box was 20 merkins and about 25? yards of bear crawl. Turn left. Second side of box was 30 squats followed by lunge walk. Turn left. Third side of box was crab walk and 40 dips at the brick planter in front of the school. Turn left. Fourth side of the box was toy soldier walk and 50 LBC.<\/p>\n
Second thang: \u00a0Line up by age. Partner up oldest and youngest, then next oldest and youngest, etc. Dora 1 2 3 with 100 WWII, 200 merkins, 300 squats. Partner runs across bus parking lot when not working toward total. My partner Yukon Cornelius is fast and strong! \u00a0Rollback\u2019s Cheetah and RollUp were also crushing this.<\/p>\n

Blind Date\u2019s brother is a coach and organic chemistry teacher, so after a rambling attempt at naming our FNG I came up with Erlenmeyer (a type of flask) and it stuck. Welcome Erlenmeyer!!

\nVery enjoyable group. Rollback made it all look easy while wearing a weight vest and a smile. His kids Cheetah and RollUp are already athletes. Dr. Toot and Palin entertained with a little MC while doing their usual strong work. \u00a0Superfly, Wooly Bugger, Blind Date and brother Dan cruised through the beat down with quiet confidence and smiling faces.
