My dad passed away a little over a year ago. Today would have been his 92nd birthday so I put together a workout to remember the man who helped me become who I am today.<\/p>\n
After the formalities and some warmorama, we got our blocks and got to it. Here’s how it went:<\/p>\n
10 burpees (block optional for all burpees) Kudos to those who did them all with the block – Sea-man and Tonka, I think.

Returned the blocks just in time for about 3 minutes of Mary.<\/p>\n
The Q thought a burpee for each year was appropriate, but some PAX were disappointed that I didn’t know if Mr. Superfly liked burpees. So, with a little post workout research here’s what I found out. The burpee was invented by American physiologist Royal H. Burpee in 1939 when dad was a young lad of\u00a0 6 years old. The burpee was popularized by the US Army during WW2. Dad served in the Army from 1956-1958. So yes, Mr. Superfly was familiar with the burpee. I’m sure he got a kick out of the 92 burpees and the rest of the workout.<\/p>\n
