Time to work off the doughnuts. Let\u2019s get after it!<\/p>\n<p>This morning, I wanted to channel two LEGEND&#8212;-wait for it&#8212;-DARY HIM\u2019s, Pony Express and Drama Queen. Always ready to mash up a cool themed workout with a history lesson.<\/p>\n<p>I gave it my best attempt. Here we go.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Soooo, after punching the snooze button a few too many times, I finally DASHed out the door. Much to my surprise, I wasn\u2019t the only one out there at 5:15am. And no, it wasn\u2019t Nelly and Cruiser. A friendly skunk was either looking to hitch a ride this morning or was looking for some grub. Freaked me out\u2026I ran, ran so far away\u2026 I started hitting the panic button on my truck hoping the horn would scare it off.<br \/>\nCruiser walks up and was like, \u201cwheres the truck? \u201c I explained the situation. \u201cOhhhhhhhh.\u201d I had looked over to Nelly\u2019s house and as he was coming out the front door, I saw another skunk running by. I think this was my new friend and he had darted across the street, away from my truck and towards the woods.<\/p>\n<p>Okay. Great. Now we can all hop in the truck and head to Distillery, which would now be starting in about 12 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Made it across town only hitting one read light, pulled into the parking lot on 2 wheels, jumped out of the truck and grabbed my stuff. Had to do the Intro \\ Mission Statement \\ 5 CP\u2019s all while moseying over to meet the other PAX who were not impressed by the Q\u2019s tardiness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The THANG:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Did our usual warmups; enough time wasters.<\/em> Instructed the PAX to go grab some blocks, and it was time to get down to business.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So again, sticking with the \u201cThis Day In History\u201d theme ( and I was really surprised how much cool stuff did happen on 8-21 ) we had a 10 part plan for today.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Like an art thief, Run to the other end of the parking lot. Once there, spider crawl across. Then run back across the other end of the parking lot. Finally, spider crawl across back to the start.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>American swimmer Michael Phelps won his 6<sup>th<\/sup> Gold Medal at the Athens Olympics. ( He went on to win 8 total. 6-Gold, 2-Bronze. )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Crab Walk across the parking lot ( long way ). Every 4 parking spaces, do 8x Swimming Supermans. ( These are basically Freestyle swimming motion, in a Superman pose on the ground. ) Continue Crab Walking. \u2013 <em>We did this down and back\u2026OUCH. Modify with Bear Crawl or Lunges, as needed.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wilt Chamberlains Birthday !<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Complete the Wilt Chamberlain, slightly modified from the Exicon.<\/p>\n<p>Do 100 LBC\u2019s \u2013 Run to the end of the parking lot and back.<\/p>\n<p>Do 100 Squats &#8211; Run to the end of the parking lot and back.<\/p>\n<p>Do 100 Flutter Kicks &#8211; Run to the end of the parking lot and back.<\/p>\n<p>Do 100 Lunges ( 50 each leg ) &#8211; Run to the end of the parking lot and back.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Usain Bolt\u2019s Birthday !<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Complete the Bolt 45, as listed in the Exicon.<\/p>\n<p>Do 15 squats, but only go halfway down.<\/p>\n<p>Do 15 more squats, but start at the halfway down position and then all the way down to the ground.<\/p>\n<p>Do 15 more full squats.<\/p>\n<p>This was so much fun, and believe me the PAX were begging for it, that we went ahead and did this twice. I\u2019m a giver.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The animated film Bambi was released in theaters by Disney.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Rifle carry across the parking lot and back.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dirty Dancing was released in theaters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Do 44x OH Press and then do 43x Skull Crushers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hawaii became the 50<sup>th<\/sup> US State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exercise: Do 50x Rock-Ups. ( Basically an Alabama Prom Date, with block overhead. )<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ransom Eli Olds founded Olds Motor Company.
