YHC grabbed the reigns for OGs\/Tractors this AM after seeing a call for Qs from the faithful, @BooBoo #HIM.\u00a0 YHC has begun dabbling in this so-called running game so what better way to kick off Spring than to lead a bunch of guys through Winston-Salem.<\/p>\n
YHC wanted to spice things up and hit some new(ish) hills and roads instead of the bland Buena Vista routes that are go-tos. YHC also wanted to avoid Old Salem and Downtown because what goes down must come up, so I found a nice route through the West Highlands and Ardmore neighborhoods where @Mongoose could stop and take a dump at his house (if needed) and YHC could have an aid station at his abode, and @Pollster could still claim being a present father to his newborn and M.<\/p>\n
I set off at 0515 with the usual crowd (@Woodpecker, @JB, @DW, @Wham-O, @’BoutTime, @Suede).\u00a0 But much to my surprise, @Chomper aka #Fasthole joined in on the fun. I kept up with him for about 0.2m and then he was not to be seen again.<\/p>\n
I got to catch up with @Woodpecker for a portion of 1st street but then we got too winded and slowly moseyed.\u00a0 @’BoutTime and @Wham-O zoomed by YHC on Knollwood, and then YHC had to battle the mental game of running.\u00a0 I was at the point of “Don’t Q it, if you can’t do it” and that was about 3 miles in… #RunningSucksEspeciallyByYourSelf<\/p>\n
It was nice to run into some of the Tractors guys and they were pushing it to the limit this AM.<\/p>\n
Sadly, 3 of the complainers on Slack (@Lemming, @Burns, @Burlap) did not show up and indulge YHC.\u00a0 So, there is that. Maybe they got confused on which way to go on Miller.\u00a0 Lots of #PAX thought we were running up Miller which is a beast, but if you look, we actually run down it…<\/p>\n
@Mongoose: “F You, you did not follow the parameters in elevation gain that I laid out for you on Monday” something about no more than +50ft per mile. Idk how to track that closely, so YHC ignored it. Sorry we have hills here in your 2nd home of Winston!<\/p>\n
But, the great @Turnover did say once that his limit is +400ft. So, that was my guiding light. Barely squeaked that one in with the OGs being +396.<\/p>\n
