Some might have thought Jordan was good but Bill Russell (2/12) won more championships – in 15 years of his highest level of competition he won 13 championships – 2 NCAA and 11 NBA. Therefore we did 13 rebound drills.

It was time to cover a couple more presidents born in February. We grabbed a block and headed over to the shelter. Much like his short lived presidency we only used the block for one exercise – 30 dead lifts to honor the 30 day presidency of William Henry Harrison(2/9)- first president to die in office. We followed that with 40 elephant kicks (much like donkey kicks) for 40th president Ronald Reagan (2/6) who famously said “Mr Gorbachev knock down that wall.”

Blocks up and back to the lot for baseball time. Most consider Babe Ruth (2/6) the baseball GOAT but Hank Aaron (2/5) hit more home runs (I know some of you are saying Hank’s record was broken but F3 much like the Hall of Fame only recognizes nonsteriod users). We honored both Babe and Hank. First Hank got 4 sets of 11 (44) hammers near our home plate. In between those we circled the bases 3 times for the Babe.

After a short reset of the cones, next up was a football GOAT. While some modern fans may say Tom Brady is the GOAT, I say if you can retire at 29, have your career rushing record stand for decades, and go off and make movies with Raquel Welch you, Jim Brown (2/17) are the GOAT. We honored Jim’s fb and movie career by zig zagging through cones much like Jim in The Dirty Dozen dropping grenades down the German vents. Unfortunately Jim doesn’t make it, so at each turn we did 4 hand release merkins. Total of 32 hrms and 32 cone touches.

Running out of time but also running out of famous people on this year’s list. Couple of exercises for Johnny Cash (2/26) Folsom Prison get ups and Ring of Fire. One more from the world of entertainment – Clark Gable (2/1) Gone with the Wind sprints. 50%, 75% and 100% for about 30 yards. And we moseyed back to launch area.

One more president – it took pax a while to remember Abe Lincoln (2/12) – but they also learned he is the only president in the Wrestling Hall of Fame so of course we needed to do Sumo Drills.

On to Mary where we covered a couple of local college basketball coaching legends – both Dean Smith (2/28) and Coach K (2/13) are are final February honorees. We did Heels to Heaven and Dolly with the blue dress on – weakest connection of an exercise but hey it was for Coach K. We knocked out a few more including the last of 4 sets of 16 SSHs for YHCs 64 years and we’re done.

NMM

Sea Man had suffered through some semblance of this before but seemed willing to bear YHC’s mindless trivia and workout again

Most pax were able to get to dunking level on Jordan jump squats

Pax groaned on dead lifts for WH Harrison – hey it was 1841 – too soon?

Heart rate got moving on the Jim Brown portion

Q fail on Ring of Fire – YHC was thinking ahead and trying to fill some time

Adobe was surprisingly speedy on last sprint

YHC drew Blind Date on Sumo Drill – something new for this recent WeFoCo regular – #worthyopponent

Playlist was songs about getting older:

When I’m 64- The Beatles

I Need Never Get Old – Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats

As Good As I Once Was – Toby Keith

I Don’t Need Your Rocking Chair – George Jones

Where Rainbows Never Die – Steeldrivers

All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down – Hank Williams, Jr.

Old Days – Chicago

Glory Days – Bruce Springsteen

Growing Older But Not Up – Jimmy Buffett

Touch of Grey – Grateful Dead

Forever Young – Rod Stewart

Against the Wind – Bob Seger

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Blind Date has VQ at The Distillery next week.
