Rumors that long lost Whirly would join us would prove to be false but he was fondly remembered. 10 was the number for all exercises and most even got in 10 of the dreaded dry dock crabs (wouldn’t be a DQQ without them) to sufficiently warm up.

YHC took the nonrunning to another step (see what I did there) with only walking from the various stops around the AO. There were several forms though – we proceeded to lunge walk toward the big wall. We switched to Imperial Walker walks, hillbilly walks and reverse lunge walks to get us all the way there. Lots of mumble chatter during this portion of the party. More on this later.

We assembled on the wall and YHC took a musical break with some Queen. While in people’s chair we thigh slapped and clapped our way through We Will Rock You.

Recover but quickly back to the wall for Jack Reachers to 10 down the line again holding people’s chair. Recover again but back to the wall again and this time pax gets to sing. Happy Birthday to Parliament while in BTTW. No sure which was worse – form or singing.

For numerous reasons we were done here and walked on down to the back of the AO all the way to the football field where YHC had strategically dropped off the bag of ropes that had not been out in a while. Pax partnered up with size somewhat mattering and proceeded to do partner push, partner pull, partner carry and then with the ropes around one pax waist and the other holding back like a sulky driver, we did the Starfish named Saratogas. Big fun.

Not enough time for 10s on the hill but pax bear crawled or bear walked up the hill and we knocked out 10 merkins at the top.

On to the blocks for a round of 10 curls, 10 skull crushers, 10 bus drivers, 10 wonderbras (Parliament invention) and 10 each side elf on the shelf/tater sacks. #crowdpleaser for my 3rd Q in a row. Blocks up.

Final walk back to launch for a little Mary. LBCs, OAK taps, Snow Angels, maybe one more and then the big finish with Shultzey WWIIs.

NMM

Early arriving Singing Cowboy reported a EC walk #appropriate

60 Minutes arrived plenty early but took his time getting out of the truck. Maybe still worrying about getting wet

Great to see Sgt Schultz back in the gloom. His mumble chatter had not missed a beat.

YHC and SS had a discussion on the walk – during the playing of Walk Like an Egyptian – better girl band – Go Gos or The Bangles? Tonka and Show Pony and others of the hate variety went home to Google Susanna Hoffs and Belinda Carlisle.

Spicoli made it just barely Spicoli time – much earlier than VI’s birthday yesterday.

While performing the various walks toward the wall we noticed an early arriving teacher/parent/carpooler (?). Not sure what she thought was approaching but she wisely stayed in the car. Then with our wall shenanigans, she still did not depart from the friendly confines of her vehicle. Good plan for us to move on.

YHC believes several pax had never ventured to the back of the AO. Lots of good memories there in 10 years. Both partner carry and the bag of ropes were unexpected by most and YHC thinks they were winners but it was dark so …

Good partnering with Tammy and his mismash of logos outfit – ask him about it sometime

Trucks coming through the lot interrupted the second round of elf on the shelf – think the pax got cheated on the count – #dosomeonyourown

Since Boomerang, Ziggy and Subfloor did not make the filming of the pax it will not get posted. #YHColdmantechskills

PLAYLIST

Walking in Memphis – Marc Cohn

Walking on Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves

Walk Like an Egyptian – The Bangles

I Walk the Line – Johnny Cash

Walk This Way – Aerosmith

Walk on the Wild Side – Lou Reed

I’m Gonna Be – Tje Proclaimers

Walking to New Orleans – Fats Domino

Walk Like a Man- Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons

Walk Away – The James Gang

Walk of Life – Dire Straits

Walkin’ on the Sun- Smash Mouth

Walk – Foo Fighters

There really are a lot of Walk/Walking songs.
