Showing up at IS these days can cause a bit of apprehension.\u00a0 Will anyone else be there?\u00a0 If so, more that one?\u00a0 Pleasantly, as I arrived, two Pax had beat me there and another showed just as we launched.\u00a0 Hanes Park is a great host to any workout and YHC tried to take advantage of what I could while trying to avoid some pretty soggy ground.<\/p>\n
The Thang:<\/p>\n
In my typical fashion, we began the workout with a light jog towards the William White YMCA.\u00a0 We stopped at each corner for 20 squats as we made our way behind the Y to the entrance of HP for some proper warm-a-rama.\u00a0 It was the usual fare; SSH, IST, Merkins and various arm swirly things.<\/p>\n
I always like to get the sucky things behind us and today was no exception.\u00a0 The Pax was ordered to perform a reverse suicide up the Intimidator.\u00a0 We ran to the top first and performed 20 Merkins, 20 LBCs and 20 Alabama Prom Date.\u00a0 Then, back to the start.\u00a0 From the starting point, we ran back up to Jersey and performed the same three exercise before heading back down to the start.\u00a0 We did this 3 more times, going one less cross street each time.<\/p>\n
Next, the Pax was curious about the work on the RJR stadium so YHC quickly Omaha’d for a field trip to view the project.\u00a0 Sutton Bros is the plumbing and HVAC contractor and the Pax got a quick lesson in the plumbing and HVAC code that must be adhered to in construction.\u00a0 Despite being months behind, the hope is to have it opened by mid March.\u00a0 Reynolds finally gets their home field!<\/p>\n
Lastly, we headed to the tennis shop for 7 layers of dip.<\/p>\n
It is bittersweet to end the weekly IS workouts.\u00a0 Hopefully, the new schedule of a workout the first Saturday of each month will prove successful.\u00a0 I will attempt to find Q’s from Alcatraz and Purgatory and perhaps a few of those regulars will venture to HP for a workout.\u00a0 If anyone feels moved, please call and audible and organize an IS workout on any other Saturday not on the schedule.\u00a0 Once we get the numbers up, we can add more regular dates.<\/p>\n
