{"id":23427,"date":"2024-04-15T13:31:51","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T17:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/?p=23427"},"modified":"2024-04-15T14:18:39","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T18:18:39","slug":"86-or-whatever-you-want-to-do","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.f3winstonsalem.com\/f3\/2024\/04\/86-or-whatever-you-want-to-do\/","title":{"rendered":"86, or Whatever You Want to Do"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Warmarama:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SSHs, Abe Vigodas, Whirlies, Cherry Pies<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The Thang<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mosey to parking lot closest to Jessie Village Drive.\u00a0 Each pax was handed a piece of chalk and told that we would be doing 5 exercises for the remainder of the workout + running.\u00a0 This was an every 1.5 minute (90 seconds) on the 1.5 minutes workout.\u00a0 At the start of each 1.5 minutes round, pax were to run to 43 yards down the parking lot and 43 yards back.\u00a0 Fortunately, the parking lot was just the right length for this.\u00a0 For the remainder of the 1.5 minutes, pax were to accumulate reps up to 86 for each of the 5 exercises in the order of their choice using the provided chalk to keep tally.\u00a0 86 was the age of my dad, William Etheridge, when he died.\u00a0 The exercises were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dive Bombers (Poppa loved old war movies)<\/li>\n<li>Hill Billies (DC, Poppa\u2019s name was William, or \u201cBilly\u201d, and he referred to himself as a \u201ccountry lawyer\u201d)<\/li>\n<li>Floor Slap Jump Shots (Poppa loved basketball and played indoors hoops into his 80s; he had an amazing hook shot that he could hit from 20 feet out)<\/li>\n<li>WW2s (it\u2019s April)<\/li>\n<li>TBD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6:10:\u00a0 Mosey home for 1.5 minutes of low plank.<\/p>\n<p>Finished.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Announcements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spicoli has the WIB Q on Thursday (\u201cprobably\u201d Thruway) and GreenNest Q on Saturday.<\/li>\n<li>Samaritan Ministries service opportunities are open for June \u2013 December.<\/li>\n<li>Post-workout, YHC discovered that he has Redline Q tomorrow, so come out for that!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Prayer Requests:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aging Parents, particularly Ziggy\u2019s mother who entered hospice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>NMM:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Burns was a man unto himself this morning, choosing to plow through all 86 divebombers before moving on to the other exercises and leaving the rest of us in the dust on the runs from one end of the parking lot to the other and back. He\u2019s still &lt;30, for the record.\u00a0 He also accused YHC of essentially saying, &#8220;Do whatever you want to&#8221; which was fitting considering my dad&#8217;s penchant for changing the rules, not so that he could win, but so that the game would go on longer.<\/li>\n<li>Turnover did TO stuff, including goading YHC into a couple of sprints on the return trip up the parking lot, laughing while complaining, and overlayering up.<\/li>\n<li>The Singing Cowboy allowed YHC to join him for the 2-mile EC run which provided great 2<sup>nd<\/sup> F and a faster pace than either of us wanted. #ISI \u00a0TSC was the only pax all morning YHC saw beat out Burns on any of the down and backs.<\/li>\n<li>Spicoli arrived on Spicoli time, but hung around after the workout to reclaim clothing he had discarded\/lost during the workout.<\/li>\n<li>BooBoo appeared out of nowhere, arriving even later than Spicoli. The Tardy Brothers then cruised through the workout making it look easy.<\/li>\n<li>Great to see Tonka this morning who I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve exercised with in over a year. He was being chauffeured by Ziggy.<\/li>\n<li>Cruiser had kind things to say about the workout, which was surely flattery the way he sped through the reps.<\/li>\n<li>Schneider, still on the IR, modified the runs to something akin to karaoke. Strong work just being out there with an injury, but then adding twist that was surely no easier than running.<\/li>\n<li>Cherry Pie would have been extremely annoyed with the extended session of cherry pies.<\/li>\n<li>As mentioned earlier, most of the pax chose to split up the reps for the different exercises; Burns chose to complete all 86 reps of one exercise before moving on.\u00a0 Each pax is responsible for their own WW2 rep count, but you should call into question anyone over 86.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li>The TBD exercise was going to be WMDs.
